Trying to emulate this sound

Hello everyone. I have been trying for a long time to emulate this kick drum sound found here http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/eyeconentertainmentmusic.htm

Here is what i am working with.

Drum: 22x16 Maple kick drum
Batter Head: Evans Emad w/ Large muffle ring in use
Reso Head: Generic 1ply with 6" hole offset to the right
Beater: Wooden Iron Cobra Beater
Mic: AKG D112
Room: Living Room, Plaster walls, carpet & 3 doorways


I am looking for input on all aspects of this style. Tuning, EQ, Mic Placement etc.

Any feedback would be GREAT.

I was listening with a dial up connection but here goes. It sounds like what your kick should sound like tuned low with no pillows or anything in the kick and a d112 about an inch from the batter (on the inside of the drum) about 2/3s of the way to the edge from the center.

I like the EQ set up , and

I would like Snare more punching....that's just my personal taste
your stuff is quite good
EQ setting is very good

see what happen if snare a bit more in a more punching way
and lower the HH 's volumn a bit

i love ur bass kick damn good
