Hello all,

I am seeking purchasing advice for a USB/Firewire/PCI Recording interface for drums. Ideally, I would like to record with 10+ channels, here is my current set up:

1 Kick Batter Head- Audix D6
2 Snare Top - Shure SM 57
3 Snare Bottom - Shure Beta 57A
4 Rack Tom - AKG D40 - AKG Rhythm Pack
5 Floor Tom - AKG D40 - AKG Rhythm Pack
6 Overhead Left - AKG C430 - AKG Rhythm Pack
7 Overhead Right - AKG C430 - AKG Rhythm Pack
8 High-Hat - AKG C430
9 Ride Cymbal - AKG C430
10 Kick Resonant Head - AKG D112 - AKG Rhythm Pack

I am looking for a USB/Firewire/PCI multitrack recording interface to record drums to my linux (ubuntu) box. I have been researching Tascam, Presonus, Allen & Heath, Mackie, and other Preamps/Interfaces/Mixers. If at all possible, I would like to use the interface for live application as well. One reason I'm leaning towards a mixer rather than a preamp interface solution. Any advice?
