this is kinda hip hoppish...

it's a doubled distorted bass, some sampled and pitch changed glass clinks, a few accordian tracks, drums, and a few vocal tracks.

it probably sounds pretty distorted because i was going for a really distorted sound...maybe too much?

i think i may want to copy and paste some junk....just to make it go longer...its really short.

It's cool but you're right it is a bit short. I would add some further lyrics to it but keep the jist of the musicas it is now. Love the clinks! :D

thats really interesting has the making of a good song, ya the bass is very distorted and i like it

i did'nt like the accordion if thats what it was, a screeching guitar or a nice melodic guitar would be nice IMO

i like the sound of your voice
 
yeah, the bass distortion is just one of those lame distortion plugins. i've tried it on guitar once...no way jose. give me a tube amp anyday...but for bass...it was alright. i mean...it needed a digital feel more than a "real" feel.

double tracked it like that, and i liked it even more.

making this into a song might be hard, as i was just fooling around with a bass line...i guess i'll just have to fool around with it again...haha

and drums...i'm quite a limited drummer with what i can do. and man...those headphones fall off my head, or i smack a mic stand...or... just for the record...that's a crappy crappy crappy CRAPPY set. the hats sound like tin, the snare sounds like rubber bands fwapping a can, the cymbal is cracked, ...

it's a friend of mine's.

guitar melody? boo. i hate guitar. especially distorted guitar melodies.

(i was a guitar major, too) go figure.

i'm going to record a acoustic folky song tomorrow. i love chords on acoustic.
 
hmmm...strings could be neat on this...maybe i'll record the folk thing after i finish this...

i don't know about a melody...but i was thinking it's pretty filled out with pretty minimal tracks... a little cello and violin might be neat. maybe just violin, since it seems pretty bass heavy...we'll see i guess
 
man its coming along nicely, i like the fucked upness of it...

still not diggin the accordian though, its ok when your playin the same note after the wasting my time bit but when it goes into the riff part it gets a bit loud or something

Hip hoppish? Ummm, not from where I'm listening. This is kinda like a severely-tripping Adrian Belew spending some time in Tom Waits's home studio. I dig it.
 
As for technical nits....

You may want to ease off on the compression a bit on the overall mix. There are a couple of points where it's very obvious.

And the accordion could come down a hair. But the way it sounds is fucking cool.

Vox up a hair, maybe?
 
As for the "longer" comments, I think those are meant for the lightningmp3 clip. The version on Soundclick was a respectable length.
