Want a tissue our kid?
Let's not hide behind acronyms, it's me you disagreed with, and you and your sharp tongue met someone else with an equally sharp tongue and you didn't like it.

Chris Harris is a sound bloke and in the past has critiqued me fairly, good and bad he said it straight. The difference is he gave me ways to improve. You, in this instance was just slack.

Like it or lump it, I'm a musician, and one who is planning on staying around here. I have next to no mixing experience and never try to hide that. If I were a mixing God I wouldn't need opinions. But when I post one song with bad vocals and get completely slated with no ramifications, I get pissed off: and some how you're shocked?

That's me. That's what I am. Like it or lump it your life affects me in no way or shape. I love getting people giving me ways to improve, I reflect take it away and do so, but arrogance is a friend to no man; so quit your crying and start helping you selfish fuck.

That's my two pence. (Cents) And if you don't like it - ban me. 'Cause I couldn't care less.

"You aint on american Idol and I aint Simon"

Fuck that shit too, it was Pop Idol and Simon. None of this American shit. We invented it. We sold it. Pop Idol baby.

And fuck you Americans slagging off England. The day you can answer me in a language you invented is the day I'll listen.

I think telling someone their song is 'cheesy' is what made the critique lose credibility.. those are needless comments..

big pictures in signatures are annoying.. ..

Yeah sure, you're American. Just say that it's all for liberation, independence and nothing to do with oil and you're away. I love how you always avoid every relevant point I make.

Thank God, I'm not the only one who thinks someone forcing their opinion on "cheese" can be offensive. Especially when they are wrong.

Dude, you are arguing with your split personality.

What are you obsessing over?

What? Why don't you re-read ANYTHING I've sent you and argue against it. Because you can't. you play to the crowd of "friends" you made here and use numbers against me. Learn how to argue ye of low IQ.

It wasn't "cheese"...it was cheeze, and that's my opinion. What is your glitch that you have to make everyone conform to your opinion? Take them for what they're worth.

It's actually pretty dull.

Gnite, I have a three year old who wants to hear a story.

Again. We were doing this over PM. Why bring it here, why involve others?

Oh because you couldn't take the fact that I was winning. Go find a tissue and cry. I'll carry this on over PM but it's not my plan to ruin these forums for the people who want to get critiques by arguing with someone who paints houses for a living. You know my email address.

If there is an attempt to raise the bar of the quality of this place, then I have a suggestion:

For the more polished mixes that are in here, those of you who critique need to mention what speakers you are listening through.

The comment "man, I can't hear any bass in your song whatsoever" is counter-productive if you are reviewing the mix through cheap pc monitors.

I make sure that I let them know right up front that I can't comment on what I heard because of that. Mostly, I just let them know that I was listening. Which probably isn't helping them any, so maybe I should just stop posting comments like that?

Yep, I am usually on headphones here. Maybe I should make that my sig.

Sorry...I really didn't know. Thanks for the honesty.

Now..don't you belong back in the cave :D :D :D
I think if I spent LESS time in the Cave I'd have more chance of actually improving :)

Seriously, I came here to learn, and it seems like I can do that better 'elsewhere' nowadays. So I post here for the fun and to answer questions I know. I've read enough here to feel like I know a lot ... but I can't back it up. You're right to call me out on it though - it raises questions of whether I should be posting at all!

As for American/Pop Idol ... Bazz ... come on ... why are you so desperate to claim ownership of that crock of shite? :o

Fair point. Beer totally affected my judgment on that.

Can someone tell me where someone "not-as-good", or "not-as-experienced" as myself go to get a review or even some help with my mixes or even help on choosing some equipment?

Look, I'm just starting out. I don't have alot of equipment. The equipment I do have is not the best, but I felt like this was a place where people with "Home-studios" could come and discuss techniques, equipment and on occasion some adivce on our recordings.

I've heard alot of good recordings in here, I've heard alot of bad recordings in here, but I'm not a recording engineer and I don't have any formal training. What I've learned I learned from spending hours reading online, looking at what "Big-Time" recording studios were using, listening to some of their samples and working to improve my own sound.

My monitors are a pair of Merak Speakers powered through my technics receiver. My mixer, as my name implies, is a "Cheap" Behringer 32 channel mixer which, in here I feel I should wear with shame. I only wanted to learn about the 8 sub-groups/busses and how I could use them with my "Another bad choice", my Aardvark Pro Q10.

I'm just learning, I don't want to have a "Recording-Studio", I just want to record myself and anyone else that can't afford an expensive recording studio. I'm sorry if I was patting people on the back, but I thought most people in here were just begining like I was. I won't offer any more comments on peoples samples.

Also, I'll try to keep my questions about equipment to a minimum.
