Wish I had the space for a cab like that! Might be an idea to build a cab into my amp shelf. Not sure the neighbours would approve though.
Greg,
my Marshall cabinet is a VS412 LEAD 4x12 8ohm.

These photos aren't my cab but same model etc. Mine's in rather better cosmetic condition.
Chipboard box!!!
I bet that big one sounds fat as fuck!
Quick question about gates. Never really bother with them but I did on the weekend cos I was recording mellower stuff with more space in the arrangement. I generally end up tracking at about -12 to -6.
Reaper tells me that my noise when I'm not playing, just the hiss from my amp/mic is at about -42. I set a gate at -40 and it seemed to work fine, eliminates the hiss and doesn't seem to clip the ends off any notes.
Is there any more to gating than this? Just finding a level that eliminates hiss while leaving your notes alone.
Are there any drawbacks to gating that I might not be aware of?
One thing he said was they did NOT like getting spit on .... no surprise there .... but he said they had to take it because it was the fans way of expressing appreciation.
roll pleated?, I'll just reload an old Kustom 4x12 cab I have laying around
roll pleated?
Here I made yall a video!
where'd ya' get the bobblehead?
I think that sounds pretty dang good. I do miss the headroom of your other amps though. I can tell the difference. Those guitars are thick and heavy but they lack the punch and dynamics your big watt clips had.
The snare is way loud in that clip. That might be interfering with everything around it. I don't usually concern myself with snare/guitar relationships, but it might be doing something in that little mix with the snare being so out front. Cymbals sound pretty good.![]()
