Mmmmm...That sounds good. I was a sort of pseudo weekend alcoholic, but I've never had a problem with drinking. It's not in my genes to be addicted to alcohol, and I'm a good drunk. I don't want to fight everyone, I want to kiss everyone. :D

I can drink every weekend for months and then not drink and it's not a problem. So, I'm not worried about "starting to drink" again. I just have no desire to catch that buzz. I'll probably have a few shots sometimes this summer.
 
Just for the hell of it, until someone posts something else....

This has always been my favorite version of Red House, but I'm posting it because of the tone. It's my all time favorite "dark" guitar tone. The solos are majestic in this tune to me, and I'm not a 12 bar blues fan at all.

But something about this version always gave me shivers.

So what is this? I know it's a Strat neck pick-up. But is that a Fender Bassman cranked or what is it?

If you want to skip to the solo, it starts at about 2:19, but he's almost soloing all through the tune, really.

I've always liked that song, especially the way Hendrix did it...No idea what he used other than a strat though...

Yeah, I always had "Bassman" in my mind, but that's only because it's a bassy sound. It might not be that at all. I love that neck pick-up darkness on this tune.

I remember your Amos Moses. I fucking loved it. I've always loved that song, going way back to when I was a little Amos Moses myself growing up in southern Louisiana.

"Amos Moses" was the first recording I ever heard of RAMI. I thought he really nailed it.

I like quite a bit of his music myself, & I've often wondered "what if" he hadn't died & kept playing/recording...

This may sound morbid, but I think dying is the best thing he might have done for his career. He became a mythological legend. If he stayed alive, he might have become........shudder.........Clapton. :eek:

Hey Rami, you out to cover "ain't no tellin" from the axis album. That is a very cool Jimi tune. if I could really play drums, like you can, I would cover it.

my guitars, the jangly ones, were DI'd, (I was still recording DI into the audio input of a Turtle Beach sound card back then - also W2K with 256Ram! so the tone isn't much the licks all over the place - faderbug played (he did the synths as well) & used a tube amp & gerry/Ido's leads are tube jobbies.
 
That's another cool tune though, Ray. I can't wait to finish the bunch of tracks I'm working on at the moment - I'm basically learning to record properly while having quite a lot of songs on that I want to get finished - I'm fucking dying to write something new.

Wow: That lead that comes in at 1:50 is down the bottom of a well! Sounds great though.

Here's quick bit of a dry afternoon riff - just having a guitar hour before popping over friends house for a BBQ.

I'm going for much lower gain tones now as my current bunch of tracks are mostly high gain, fairly slow and sludgey. I really want my next few to be faster and punkier.

Sounds pretty good, man.

For the past few months I have been recording what I think are cool ideas with my phones camera. I dont set anything up, Im just using it as a tool to remember what I am playing and also to listen back when Im not in the moment so I can better flesh out stuff and if its even worth it. This first one is from today, I tuned my Dot Studio to Drop C and have been messing a bit with it.
