Armistice
Son of Yoda
Hey ray, thanks for the listen.... it was time to move on. The Jongleurs were dead as a recording/gigging outfit before I even got that CD out due to Richard's growing family. Ce la vie. I've got about 4 songs in various stages of development at the moment - they don't sound anything like that clip - more "angular" cleaner guitars... I'm trying not to play chords and riffs as such, just intriguing meshing parts a la Television, if anyone, but not quite, either. I told Mr Clean the other day it was Television meets Steven Wilson meets Hold Steady...
Not sure that's quite right either...
Singing's what's stopping me completing anything... I haven't sung for so long that every time I try I give up in horror. My hands are pretty fucked at the moment with an RSI sort of thing going on, and I really shouldn't be playing at all, but there are some heavier/harder bits on some of these tunes that I'm going to have to deal with, so I thought now would be a good time to learn the gentle art of heavier geetar...
And if I'm not playing because of the hands, I'm going to have to confront the singing thing, I guess ... so I have an objective to get something up in the Clinic this month... I'll look forward to your thoughts.
Be interested to hear what other people have to say on that clip above... as I listen now, one of the tracks is sounding a bit fizzy to me up high, but I like the other one.
Oh, and I didn't really take up acoustic guitar seriously until later in life... I was always the "lead" guitarist in the various bands I played in... had Richard not come along, quite accidentally, when he did, I may have got here earlier, but then I wouldn't have known what I know, or played what I play - it all fits together... and I've always like heavier / harder music to listen to.
