Ok, got the new speakers installed in the cab, I thought I'd have to re-solder part of it, but actually, one of the jacks I wired up already had what I needed....That's good, kinda plug/play after getting the speakers mounted in the cab....
First impressions:
G12-65: Love it so far, it's like my Greenback, but with smoother highs....Seems the mids are just right for me...So far, I like this speaker best out of 'em all....
G12H: Very bright speaker, but with it's own voice, kinda like my Greenback (with the high end it's got), but at a different frequency, if that makes any sense...
Overall, the cab doesn't sound like shit in the room like I thought it would, I can say with the 4-speaker mix, I don't think I'd have any problems cutting through a band mix due to all the mids this thing throws out....lol...
Again, so far, I'm liking the '65 better of the two speakers I got yesterday, but that may change after I've had some time with 'em....
So, here's a couple clips with the new speakers & the new mic:
Signal chain:
LP > G12-65/G12H > e609 > daw (no eq, no reverb, just the raw tracks)
I used the same exact settings on the amp for both clips too, just moved the mic to where I thought it sounded best (of course, the mic position could be a lot better, this is just a quick-n-dirty clip thing....)...
Resonance: 5
Presence: 8
Bass: 8
Mid: 5
Treble: 5
Master: 3
Gain 2: 2
Gain 1: 4
Era: 80's
Bright 2: L
Bright 1: C
Focus: off
Celestion G12-65 - e609
Celestion G12H - e609
Lemme know what you guys think...I actually called in today, I feel like utter shit, think I'm coming down with the flu....First time I've called in sick all year, & the last time I missed a day at all is when my Dad passed away....
Lemme know what you guys think about the clips, I'm pretty happy with the new gear so far....
