Why would you slow down the dolls? Jerry Nolan played too fast? Are you on barbiturates or something?


Ditto on the Rundgren though. I never got what anyone likes about that guy.

I'm a BIG fan of Johnny Thunders. He's definitely very high on my very short list of actual influences. I love his tone and style. LP Jr, cranked Fender, lots of reverb, heroin fueled leads, awesome.

minerman! I think I found better EVH tone in the JVM. I've been on the wrong channel. OD2 might be where it's at. The mids are shifted a little lower on OD2 and the sound is a little brighter and tighter overall. It could be a total miss, but just dinking around I think it's better. Clips when I can.

Waiting patiently on your JVM clips, so it'll make my GAS that much worse.....:p

All jokes aside, post 'em up dude, would be really cool to hear...I think I'm about as close with my DSL as I'm gonna get for now. I did run your Van Crappin clip through my daw, using a spectrum analyzer thingie, & got a little closer this morning (post eq though, I haven't recorded anything in a couple days now, still using the di/amp clips I posted...). I'm still working on the 'verb though, any chance you could upload the IR for the 'verb you used on the last clip??? I've got a bunch, but they all give off a weird sounding frequency, & no matter what I do, I can't dial it out (eq)....No biggie either way, as I might even have the IR you used laying around on one of my hard drives......

On second thought, the mid thing you mentioned just gave me an idea about the tone shift button on my DSL, I don't think I've tried that yet....I'll re-amp the di in a few minutes & see what gives......

I have no idea which one I used. These clips I record get deleted. I'll send you the reverbs i use though. If you can use impulse files, you can use these.

I'll try for another EVH tone later today with OD2. I'm gonna go play golf this morning though. Punk rock! :D
