My Kahler trems were/are the same way...floating. I dig the Kahlers.

Is that the best you can say about the man, Bubba? Why no love for Bill?

Thing is Lou we heard all that bbd stuff in the late 70's. Not a bad thing but there you have it...

He was huge on the college scene for years and never really moved out of that because he wouldn't play corporate ball.

Hey mutt ....... take a quick (well it won't be quick but ) perusal of the 'Tone to die for' thread ..... actual tones start at about page 60 and then come fast and furious.

And then ...... post some toan ...... we wanna hear.
And yes ....... I posted toan ...... in fact, now that my stupid-busy summer is over I'm gonna get back to it next week.
I'd love to heat the muttley's toans.

To be perfectly honest Lt, I haven't done a whole lot recently. The reasons are threefold.

I get to see a lot of seriously good players in my line and it all seems pointless for me to try and match what they do these days. All my gear is locked away after the house move at the beginning of the year. I have to prepare my space yet and that is low on the list she has laid out for me. Thirdly and probably most relevant to me is that not much inspires me like it used to. That may be my own fault and I'm definitely lazy these days when it come s to seeking out new inspiration but after working on guitars all day I find I have less interest in my playing these days. I guess all I need is some inspiration.

I have plans to do some recording with another guitar player and maker in the near future. He's f***king amazing so don't expect to hear much of me. It's this guy and I've known him for years via college and gigs we did a long while back. He always inspires me to play. He's a good guitar maker too the bastard.

well, the beauty of the tone to die for thread and the new tone thread is that they are specifically non-judgemental on the playing.
I know you're at least decent and even that isn't required to post toans.

yeah, that guy is very good.

Hey Muttley, do you know a guy by the name of Wayne Henderson?

He came to my college some weeks ago. Apparently his guitars are some of the best out there. I had a little discussion with him after the concert and guitar talk and talked about flamenco. He was interested in flamenco and I'm bringing some of my guitars to his workshop sometime soon.

Just thought you might have a better chance of knowing him than anyone else here. Although... he lives across the pond so... worth a shot in asking! :D

I know of him but don't know him personally. Just watched a you tube lip of him seems like a real decent guy..

I'll see what I can put together when I get my gear up and running again. Fancy a collab? There must be a bunch of guys here who could do some hot club or texas swing stuff for fun..

Tone sounds good, Coal Miner but the mix has it under a blanket. It's "drums-up". Back them down and make the gits more in yer face. Put an edge on it.

I would love to be included, I have been distracted with other minutiae and need to get it going with the music again.
Things should get more back on track here soon, as it gets too cold to go out in the woods bushwhacking.

I listen to BBD all the time.
I think that Bill Nelson / Be Bop Deluxe have attained obscurity in my country.
He is highly underated and not listened to much at all.
I think that is the typical fate here of music that has an intelligent edge to it.
The kids I know are friggin' idiots and know absolutely nothing about either music or history.

Hey guys,
Just another clip trying to get a better guitar tone, 2 guitar tracks, bass, & drum vsti.....Lemme know what you think, going for a Marshally type tone, without a Marshall.....:D

Great stuff, you a good musician, Minerman.
Do you play the drums or are they programmed?
I'm on learning drum programming now.

Thanks for keeping the tone thread alive. :thumbs up:

HEY miner. I haven't been around for weeks. Is this still your blackstar amp?

I think it sounds all right. The drums are kind of eating everything else. But, that aside your marshally tone sounds really good!

Thanks guys, after listening to this clip in my work vehicle back/forth, you're all right, the drums are too loud compared to the guitars. No big deal fixing that though, just a simple volume adjustment.....

The drums are programmed, Sam. I use midi loops that came with EZ Drummer/Superior, then tweak 'em to fit whatever song I'm tinkering with. I use Jamstix 3 sometimes too, which is like having a virtual drummer, but it's really deep/complicated to use, so most of the time, for something quick, I just program 'em manually/by hand........

This is Amplitube 3 on the guitars, with the cabs bypassed, & using Redwirez IR's/impulses......

Thanks for the listens & compliments!!!!!

I finally pulled the trigger on another amp, bought an Egnater Tweaker 15w head. Should be here sometime next week, so I'll have some new tones in a few days........

Had the place to myself for a couple hours today, so I re-tracked the guitars on this with my HT-5, Greenback cab & SM57. Raised the volume on the guitars a little too, lemme know what you guys thing..........

Egnater Tweaker 15w head is on the way, so I should have some new tones in a few days......
