This week it's Faster Pussycat. They're not that bad to me, I can tolerate them just fine. I'm not really a fan but they're not an absolute embarrassment. I won't stay to watch them but I won't run away as fast as I can either. The one I opened for last week was fucking horrid even in their short semi-famous prime, and I don't even wanna say who it is. :laughings:

Lol...Is Taime Downe singing for 'em now, or is it just a replacement band with the name???? I like some of their stuff, even now dude, they were more a punky-blues band to me than hair metal, but that's just me...I'm curious about the other band too, but I'm not gonna pester ya about it....:)

Taime Downe is singing, and I think it's the original bassist and drummer. Yeah they were like a poor man's Guns N Roses. Pretty sleazy, but not as good songs as GNR.

Fuck it, the terrible band I'm talking about is "Every Mother's Nightmare". They had some very fleeting success in the early 90s before grunge killed that shit off once and for all. I doubt any of yall have heard of them, and if you have, my condolences.

I've never heard of them.. But then I've never heard of faster pussy cat either. I think the only Hair Metal bands I've heard of are Crüe, Skid Row and Europe. But I know there was a shit load more of it around at the time and I'd probably recognise a few songs if I heard them.

I personally don't consider Faster Pussycat as "hair metal". They're from that time period, but they weren't really like Cinderella or Motley Crue. Like I said, they were more like a cheap GNR copy.

Every Mother's Nightmare was like a cheap Warrant copy.

Yeah, to me, FP was more bluesy-punky than a lot of bands from that time...I think you just answered my question in my last post too...:)

Oh yeah, do you guys only have about 3 live clips from your band Crank Case on YT???

I really have no idea what's out there. The only one I know of is a black and white video that's pretty decent quality.

Cool, you got a link?
Do you play any of the stuff off Drag Racing live?

Me on drums.

No, not with Crank Case. My personal solo stuff doesn't really fit with Crank Case. They're all really good musicians, but they're just not wired to play my kind of stuff. My stuff is too fast for them most of the time, and I don't think the singer would be comfortable with my lyrical content. My other band does "I'm a Freak" off Drag Racing though.

Thanks. I don't know that "Mr Insane" guy. Apparently he goes around videoing bands and has some youtube channel. Not a bad video though. The sound did come out good. I don't think he tapped into the sound board, so that must be just the camera mic or he synced it to a room mic or something.

Yeah Greg, that's how I view 'em too....I saw 'em live in about '90 or so, & thought they put on a good show....I saw GNR late '87, basically before anyone around here had heard of 'em (remember I live out in the sticks). During the fall of my senior year in high school, & when I graduated in the spring of '88, they'd exploded everywhere...They were good live, or I thought they were anyway...

I wasn't gonna say anything else, but I knew because you'd hinted around, & I saw one of your bands' flyers somewhere with their name on it....sorry man....

Cool vid man, that does have pretty good sound...

I wish I could've found a drummer like you when I was in bands....All the drummers I played with (except the girl in the last band, she was pretty good), would always get worn out & yell "slow it the fuck down"....:laughings:

Hey fuckers and fuckettes.

Just dropping in to say hi.

I can't keep up with all these tones and clips. I'm peeking in once in a while, though.

Haha I'm the opposite of that. I think the band is too slow. Drumming in that band is almost like taking a nap sometimes. I'd love for everything we do to be twice as fast. I'd also love to bullshit less between songs, but they have to tune and talk and drink and tune again, etc. I wanna blast through everything Ramones-style and get the fuck out. I'm pretty much a shit drummer, but I do have two things going for me - good meter and lots of stamina.

Hey Rami!

Exactly, less bullshit & more music....I could just never find anyone who could actually really play drums around here. There were a couple guys who were decent, but had lotsa bullshit/baggage they carried with 'em, so it just never worked...I've actually came back inside the bar from being on break (outside smoking a doobie...:)), & found our drummer passed out behind his kit...
I was pissed to say the least & he didn't last long, after that gig, he was gone...

Hey Rami!!!! What's up dude???:thumbs up:

Crankcase - good video recording of the singer & drummer!
Sounded pretty cool. I've seen the vid before when trying to steal things for videos.
Plenty of fast kick drum for the ending!
Def. sounds like drinking music - no wonder the bar people like you.
The last performing band I was in, the Naked Igwanaz, had an American singer and he LOVED to talk between songs. I think he believed his accent and un-relate-to-able vocab impressed the women. In reality it slowed the band down and alienated the women who would rather have been dancing.
And then he sacked the drummer for having a bad beard so I walked.
He was also unhappy with me because he'd bring songs to rehearsal and imply they were his then I'd chime in with "Oh, that's a classic Plimsouls songs" or "Wow, wasn't that Shoes album cool", etc and he'd grind his teeth.
