Thanks to all those who have helped me during the process of planning out and putting together my home studio. i'll be using this thread to document my progress.

i'll start from where i left off in my other thread which was entitled "Must My Room be Completely Dead?". so here's a pic from today from when my cousin and I put down the first few wood pieces for my new floor.

unfortunately, here's where we ran out of the light colored wood. i made a mistake in my calculation somewhere, so even though i thought i'd have some extra, i guess i still came up short, doh! but im gonna finish it up tomorrow and that'll be that for the floor. then comes the whole adventure of moving all my crap upstairs and getting everything somewhat situated. :o

to be continued.... ;)

Looks GREAT so far. Keep the installments coming.

Very nice work, Z-man. I particularly like the dark border around the perimeter of the room. Gives it that professional touch.

Looks cool man nice floor!

Is there a reason you changed color around the outer band, or just that it looks cool. (Which it does)

no reason, just for looks ;)

thanks for the compliments guys! there's still plenty more to come...

What feedback did you get on the decoupling between the parquay/adhesive/concrete? There has to be some dc going on.

Nice floor, the dark trim adds alot. I would personally folllow-up with darker wainscoting, then maroon paint....CLASSY!

i didnt really do any decoupling, and theres no concrete because its on the 2nd floor. i wasn't too worried about soundproofing in this case, just making a reflective floor so i can treat the cieling without killing the sound of the room.

wow thats looks really good

i love the look of a wood floor

how long did it take you to lay that

it took us (2 people) pretty much a whole sunday to get that much done, but like i said before we took frequent breaks for pizza and beer. i finished off the last part there last night in about a half hour, pretty straightforward. i'm gonna go and pick up the trim that goes along the edges later today, and the trim that goes in the doorways. after i put that in i'll take a couple pics of the finished work.

all-in-all i'd say it took us a total of 2 days. one day for making all the measurements, doing all the border cuts, and test fitting. then one day for actually laying the stuff down.

OK so today i went and bought the trim pieces and the stuff for the doorway transitions. i got most of it measured up and cut, but it got pretty late and i still need to make a few more cuts to get the last pieces in. anyway, here's a (crappy) pic. hopefully soon i'll have some more exciting pics to share once i start with the treatment.

i had all kinds of stuff on the floor haha, i haven't even moved my stuff in and it's already a mess. but you can sorta see the trim that i put along the edges...
