Cool. I think the vocals are a little low in the mix and maybe bring the bass up too. Guitars sound perfect!!! What stack are you using??
Lolz.
I hate that they call everything "grooves".![]()
I know you do.... and in the past I tried to call them other names like midi files, or beats, or whatevers... but grooves seems to stick because people know what I'm talking about.
Oh, make sure you turn down the room mic. LOL.![]()
I did, all the way. That thing is yuck. I'm not crazy about the stock sounds that came with it, but again, it's pretty great for 30 bucks (one kick head is more than that) and I'm looking forward to being able to demo my own songs without having to record scratch drums.
Yeah, the room mic was one of the best bits of advice you gave me a long time ago. I thought it was worthy of repeating here.
Glad to hear you might be able to work it into your routine. As an accomplished drummer and being familiar with something like EZD, you can give us non-drummers a lot more insight into programming drums. That would be cool.
This isn't really "programming" though, is it? I mean, you're just grabbing loops and dropping them in. While I was goofing around with it, I was thinking, "I wish I could drop a crash here". I didn't try it yet, but I'm guessing you can go into the midi event and draw in hits or take em away if you want to?
Oops, meant to say...
I can spend hours editing my drum track.
Wow, the Gerg using a drum vsti......never thought I'd see this......
Look at the left upper corner for different sounds, if I remember, there's a "roomy", "dry", & a couple more.....using EZ Drummer isn't that bad really Greg, they sound good enough for a song idea, & with a little work/time, can sound pretty convinving.......
If you need 'em, I have all the keymap files (which are just text files) for a bunch of Toontrack stuff, specifically for Reaper, lemme know dude.....
That's what I started out with, EZ Drummer, but I've gone to Native Instruments 80's & 90's Drums, I think they sound better from the get-go, but that's just me.....
I'm no pro at programming by any means, but if you need any help, lemme know. Hell, you could probably help all of us that use drum vsti's with your drumming skills......
Again, lemme know if I can help dude, gonna go grab some more turkey!!!!
Now I just need ez bass and ez guitar and I'll never have to pick up an instrument.....or even know how to play!![]()
Where is the fun in that? lol
Trust me, If you register at Toontrack, they will email you.
