So you're saying that you DON'T take potshots at Studio Projects and PMI Audio?

I just want to make sure I understand your position.
Even tho you'd like me too... I'm not taking any potshots at Studio Projects and PMI Audio.

Then it's up to those of us who don't have any particular grudge against Alan Hyatt and his company to present the other side of the argument.
What argument?

I just worry that some newbie will see his post count and associate that with useful knowledge, without knowing his agenda against SP and PMI.
You mean a newbie like you and your agenda against me?

I'm hoping the PMI customer service is excellent, and not needed.

I'm getting ready for my first set of late production C4, and hoping they work fine without needing updates or other customer service.

Somewhere here, I remember seeing something about the C4 being continuously improved, but I can't find it. That being said, I hope mine are late enough in the cycle to be in the "improved" range. They were purchased from Sweetwater in December, 2003.

I don't think you'll have any problems with PMI Audio's customer service.

If your looking for the thread where Alan said Brent is always upgrading/doing mods to the Studio Projects C4 mic

yeah, he recorded the whole damn event on an original SM57 (yes of course they've been around that long) onto a wax cylinder for posterity. then he melted the cylinder down a year later, on the gounds that it wasn't as good at the new gramaphones coming out  think i got my history skewed, apart from the 57:cool:

I pooped once and it turned into a wax cylinder joke that was on a 1 1/2 year old thread.

Wow ... I talked very differently back when I was still a teenager ...

Sorry! :o

Is the Behringer B-1 and C-1 the same as the Studio Projects B-1 and C-1?

Let me stop you right there ...

Don't even think about it!:mad:

;)

Wait a minute, here.

I've been waiting almost 2 years to complete that punch line. Don't deny me now!

Hmm.. maybe I missed it, but how do I know if my c4's have the old or the new shockmounts? I bought them about 6 months ago from Sweetwater.

If they work, and the mics stay in the clips ... they don't need replacing. If you are finding your overheads on the floor ............. that probably needs looking at. :)

Ok, ok, I'll grant you a stay of execution. It had better be worth the wait! :D

Just a quick note, Studio Projects customer service is among the best in the business. Try getting top-notch service from a German company that is only concerned with the bottom line. Good luck. Studio Projects rocks.

I think most of the pro audio companies, and particularly the mic manufacturers, are all great with the customer service. With notable exceptions like Nady and Behringer, of course. Studio Projects is very good. Audio Technica and Shure are both outstanding considering their size and volume. The Groove Tubes guys have always been helpful and attentive.

The only time you run in to snags, generally, is when there's an AES show or something. Which is understandable.
