you are the definition of a closed minded, prejudiced, flaming troll. You might even recieve a linking to from encyclopedia dramatica!!!

congrats!

oh and please excuse me for not reading your previous anal ranting

Hee hee. Oh! The rage! You're obviously beside yourself because you thought you had me cornered with your Led Zep "challenge". I guess I'd also feel really stupid if I were you, which has contributed to your out of control anger. I'm loving it. :D:D:D:D:D

It's not about rap per say. But, I don't know too many (or any) rockers copying Led Zeppelin samples, singing over them , and then calling themselves "producer". If there were many of these, I'd have started the same type of thread about them, too.

And since I like a lot of hip hop, it's not about all hip-hop producers. Many are legit and successful.

A few of my thoughts on "Producers"

Rick Rubin is one of my favorite Producers and he got his start basically looping rock tracks for groups to rap over... Is he not a producer by your standards?

And to the guy that called Bob Rock a soulless hack: WTF are you smoking? Go watch A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica, then listen to Metallica aka the Black album.

Another of my favorite "producers" is Jimmy Page, although who the hell would call him a producer instead of a guitarist or musician? :)

And YES, Timbaland (sp?) is a GREAT producer as well.

Anyway, my two cents.

-Neal (Guitarist of Limited ability, Producer of EPIC Garageband demos...) )

oh, projection.

He sure is a producer. I never said a rap producer isn't a producer. Once again, I have to copy part of my first post:
Loading pre-recorded "beats" into your pirated DAW in your Mama`s basement does NOT make you a "PRODUCER".
Does that describe Rick Reuben or Dr. Dre to you??? I didn't think so. It describes a very specific, un-qualified group of people. That's why I'm getting a hearty laugh out of the people that came in here trying to defend all rap music, when it wasn't being attacked in the first place.

Ouch! Stop it, man. You're going to make me cry. I'm surprised you can type with such anger burning from your fingers.

:D

omg, i didnt realize you were kidding, lol... its late.

I agree.

This is why I usually un-subscribe to any thread by page 3. I'm trying to let this one die, too, but felt an obligation to reply to people that post in a thread I started.

Everyone who's opinion I actually respect got the point and posted for the first 7 pages. The last 2 pages have seen a unflux of retards. But, at this point, if someone doesn't get it, they don't want to get it.

Time to move on. :D

Onward and upward!!!!

:D

Go listen to Load, Reload, Saint Anger and everything else that douche has touched outside of metallica. He took a great thrash band and made them a Meh superstar band.

As far as Rami is concerned...Sad. Sorry. Just sad. As I said, you've lost the ability to insult due to your sheer hackness and lack of discernment in music.

The fact that you hated my performance/noise/video stuff illustrates WHY it's a success. It's not meant for bottom feeders like yourself. I've got my weird little fan base and I'm quite happy with how deeply it bores/offends/freaks out/dulls/pisses off/whatever the non artists. It's not meant to be popular or understood by people who like pop music or easily accessible art because I fucking hate that shit and the people who make and like it.

I love the fact that your insults are basically sampling other people's work and you're bitching about sampling. To call someone Forrest in a thread indicates that you've not got the mental wherewithal to pull together your own series of words to describe your feelings. You sir, are a relic and a hack that listens to and feeds off of the worst in music and pop culture. Low IQ and high schmaltz media diets usually lead to the "Stan Bush" effect. There is a treatment but it involves not making the same songs that sound like some shit you heard in the 80's over and over again, going to a bar where the hair height of the women is below 6 inches poofed and opening your withered mind to some real art.

Since that won't happen...I'll leave you with this insult in your style.

<rami mode>
You're as dumb as the guys from Sam I Am and Tropic Thunder and Rain Man all combined. That's how dumb you are. See, that proves me smart cuz I listed dumb things and said you were them. So I'm smart now. You're not. I'm not pathetic or reaching at all. I'm really a great person that should be listened to even though my musical influence is only felt on a few amateur websites and I can't understand why.
</rami mode>

God I feel stupider for even joking like that. You, sir, are a complete failure at any form of insult.

Did I miss something? performance/noise/video stuff? Can I see?

My statements were made the people like those below, not the ones that disagree with what im saying.

Hip hop is a style of music, like it or not. If you dont like it dont listen to it but nothing gives anyone the right to criticize anyone else for the things they do, the things they spend their money on, and the things they have fun with. I do agree with RAMI that those guys that dont buy their software and are basement internet beat makers shouldnt call themselves "producers" but who am I to say anything about it, and on the other side who are you?

I respect alot of your opinions in here because you guys have helped me out alot and showed your intelligence time and time again but this thread is not a good display of that.

Uh????? well yes we can criticize..it's a free country,we just cannot prohibit people from enjoying what they want. My statements may have been a bit over the top for for the most part I stand by them . For me hip hop/rap is not music. Sorry! Speaking in bad rhyme is something anyone can do for the most part. Sign like Ray Charles or Joe cocker, or play like Charlie Christian or Charlie Parker. Good luck. It is a totally different thing. Rap and hip hop is more an attitude than a tallent I believe. I dont mean to offend but this is how I feel.....and it is my right...it's still America

The most notable theft was Stairway to Heaven which they stole from a band called Spirit. But there are others....

Here's something google pulls up:

Yeah, I'm still a big Zep fan.

Go listen to Load, Reload, Saint Anger and everything else that douche has touched outside of metallica. He took a great thrash band and made them a Meh superstar band.

What in the holy hell are you blathering about?

Summary in two sentences or less because any more and you'll just post more of the same gibberish.

As endless flame threads go, this one is WAY better than the recent and hopefully dead "Why must my mono songs be converted..." thread.

..............

Oh, and Rami does kickass writing, arranging, performing, tracking and mixing so I was interested to read his opinion on the "producer" subject.

Or we could hang and pwn some of these clowns. Depends how much free time you got.

I was posting replies to multiple threads without citing the OP's of said threads.

1. Bob Rock=Not a producer (in response to poster who said that he was amazing)

2. Rami=Boring and unoriginal with no skills for insult. (due to his insults being based off of old shitty movies and his lack of taste)

I didn't think the post was confusing but I guess if you weren't following the thread it could be.

Examples please. I've not heard anything he's done that's been remotely interesting or anything other than derivative dribble from the crappiest part of pop. Not that I should expect something else, he is from Canada and there've never been any good non punk bands from Canada. Yes I know Rush is from Canada. They need to die violent and bloody anal deaths. The Forgotten Rebels were fucking awesome though, but again punk not pop.

Okay, it's killing me. I feel like such an idiot, but I gotta know... what does "pwn" mean?? :o

Too long to explain here, Google it. It's a good word to use when you're taking the piss out of internet nerdistry, as long as people don't think you're actually using the word seriously because that would actually make you a nerd.

It has spread into popular culture though, I saw a sign reading 'John Cena pwns Chris Jericho' behind the ring on a WWE programme the other day.

Okay, it's killing me. I feel like such an idiot, but I gotta know... what does "pwn" mean?? :o

It's an internet variant of "own" as in ruled over, kicked ass, dominated, etc. The exact story will likely never be known, but legend has it that some guys were playing an online video shoot 'em up game, and when one of 'em wiped out the other, he tried to type into the little instant message console "I own you!" But he fat-fingered a "p" instead of an "o." It spread like wildfire, and as they say, the rest is history...
