Make it easy on yourself and get some purpose built computer speakers.

They are powered from the soundcard and have an 1/8" stereo jack on the end of one, then the other plugs into the first.

Alternatively, if you HAVE to use those speakers with your computer get a small power amp and an 1/8" inch stereo cable for the computer end to whatever size and format the power amp has for an input.

$5 solution

Id' be inclinded, particularly if $ is an issue, to stop by a thrift store and buy a cheap stereo tuner to use as your amp. As long as it has a "line in" or "CD in" or some such thing that you could plug your computer into, it would work. Also, it would be easiest if it has the speaker connections that work with bare wires, but if not you could wire a few RCA jacks to your speaker wire. A few twists and some electrical tape and you'd be good to go.

If money is not an issue, feel free to send some to me. ;)
