How do I use the Korg D-3200 as a Mixer?
I use my computer to record so I just want to make use of the Korg.
This is all just a hobby for me.
I have made great recordings using my computer setup.
I have two PA speakers and a stereo power amp also.
I want to use the Korg D-3200 as the mixer for this setup.
I will also use two inputs on the Korg for two outs on my audio interface.
I read that I can do what I’m conceiving but my lack of knowledge is holding me back.
Any advice is truly appreciated.
Thanks

Frank

You've got a pretty decent mixer and it works in the normal way, at least, normal for digital mixers. 8 inputs really plus a few extras. The concept though for non digital mixers needs a rethink. Set the channel gains as normal and then when you select a channel with the button, you then get the sends, eq and other gizmos on the screen. What are you stuck with?

Going into the little screen and what to activate.
I love the little beast but all the fussing with what to turn on is what made me go hardcore with a daw based system.
I just don’t know what to activate on it.
I want to get this done because of the units quality.
The little recording I’ve done with it is mind blowingly good as to quality.
If I could just get an easy, 1 day, solution on setting it up to monitor so I could use it as a mixer, I’d be set.
Thanks for the reply.

Have you watched any of the videos on Youtube? Surely there is something there that can get you going. I don't know the Korg, but it sounds like you simply need to know how to get to basic functions to add EQ and reverb to the monitor mix, which are going to be the typical functions found in basic analog mixers. A mixer doesn't need things like automation, and multiple effect routings.

I’m gonna watch one on the monitoring function.
Do yourself a favor.
Don’t use the Korg.
If it didn’t have the Killer Drum Machine onboard I would have ditched it long ago.
But that drum machine makes it indisposable, to me.
It’s never been a fun unit to use.
And that small screen is a nightmare.
They have a device you can install to use the unit with a tv.
Twoseemy is the name.
220 dollars.
I have the Korg listed on Craigslist for 350.
No takers.

:giggle: I'm not likely to be buying a 20 yr old machine for a recorder or drum tracks. I've already got 2 Yamahas and a Zoom, plus my computer setup. I could never get into programming drum tracks on the recorders. I've got MT PowerDrumKit, which is great for assembling drum tracks from a the vast collection of included grooves in my DAW.
