Unpossible!
Hey I got a question.

Who recorded Steeley Dan's "Gaucho"? I know Al Schmidtt did "Aja", and it sounds like him again.

The reason I ask is, as I've gotten my ear "trained" over the last year of recording, a lot of the music I used to listen to now has "flaws" in it, and doesn't sound as good as it used to. However, when I fire up some old SD, I have a GREATER appreciation for the recording.

Thanks,

NL5

Exec. Engineer: Roger Nichols
Tracking: Elliot Scheiner, Bill Schnee
Mixdown: Roger Nichols

I love listening to the old SD myself. Matter of fact, I minds well pop Gaucho in now!

Thanks.

Guess I was wrong.

Been listening to the two albums back and forth, and there are some differences. Mostly in the vocals and cymbals. Al's is better IMO. Just seems to have more vitality. Really an impressive recording.

Elliot Scheiner, did the mixdown on Gaucho.
Nichols,Scheiner and Schnee were also engineers, along with Al Schmitt on Aja.

Well, I feel a little better. No wonder it sounds so similiar.
