I know I've seen several examples here over the last few months of a box for a computer, and one for an amp, but I can't find the links to them, and I need to design a box that will reduce the sound of a small motor, used for a pool filter. It is about the length of a loaf of bread, and maybe twice as big around.

I don't need to have it totally silent, just need to reduce the decibel level as much as possible. It is interfering with the acoustic of my music listening room, which is adjacent to where the pump motor is.
They don't build these California homes with a lot of exterior wall soundproofing, I guess. :)

Any ideas or links would be helpful.

Thanks a lot.

Bushice - I have collected a few of them. Look here:

They are under the "desks" album.

Cheers
Kevin.

I have some more pictures of the racks if you wish...

As well as the flip-floor vocal booth which solved a very specific problem in my studio.

Let me know if you want me to mail them to ya. If not, thats entirely cool too.

frederic - I have intended to put both up (from the pix in the threads) but have not had a free minute recently... will do if I get some time tomorrow.

Cheers
Kevin.

LSF,
The iso box looks like the ticket.

Any idea of the specs on it, in terms of components used?

I can figure out the measurements I need, but I'm not so sure of the materials to use to get the best effect.

Thanks,

bushice

Bushice - Check with whoever designed it for how they did it, larrye and cordura21 (both members here) have drawings up there. I plan on building something similar to larrye's. I will use 3/4" Pywood for the outer material and perhaps line it with 5/8" MDF.

Fredric - I put up your rack pix and one of the flip booth. Do you have any more of the finished booth?

Cheers
Kevin.
