It's a great vocal performance, and love the rhythm guitars, it's a little dry though, I'd like to hear a bit more reverb on the snare, I don't agree about the lead guitar being 'anti climatic' though at all, it works for me. I think a bit of automation on the vocals and other elements would refine it further, and then some compression on the drum bus in parallel, and then some subtle compression/ tape saturation on the master bus to give it some colour would all help.
Thanks for the listen!

The vocal turned out not bad. There are some pitch issues as we're pushing the singer's range a bit on this tune. It is minor though, and I think adds a bit of character to it. This tune is me on production, engineering, guitars and bass. A vocalist and drummer. Just a three piece.
Funny you mentioned it being a bit dry. I've been consiously scaling back my verbs after being accused of using too much.

I've just not found the perfect balance yet, I guess.
Hmm, automation. That is a skill I don't have yet. On a console I would have done fader rides. Itb, I don't know how to do that stuff yet.
Parallel comp. Hmmmm, dont know how to do that yet either.

For that matter, haven't figured out how to run a send for effects or returns yet as well. Any processing is inserted into the channel. Lots to learn about itb.
This was tracked to tape. When I mix it on the console, I have all that "goodness" and prefer that sound and the character added.
But I am trying to learn this itb stuff, so I'm giving the console a rest for now. Stepping out of my comfort zone, if you will.
Thanks so much for the listen and comments.
