This is me on guitar, my son on small pipes, and our friend on djembe. I thought it would be easier to mix than it was - the guitar, the pipes (especially the drones) and the top end of the drum all sort of sit in the same area.
The highland small pipes are the smaller, indoor-voice-using cousin of the highland bagpipes, which my son also plays. The bagpipes are on a non-A-440 tuning system, they're loud as f*#@, and he left them in Lubbock when he came home for xmas break. We'll pick up with those in the summer.
I once again tried some outboard processing on one of these - the djembe is going through an outboard compressor, and the whole mix is going through a pair of ACMP-81s (from the group buy a few years back) for some EQ and saturation. The other one is all in the box. Guess which is which - hint, the fat looking one is the outboard one - weird.
Anyway, lemme know what you think.
