My guess is it's the same folks saying I'm an ass for being irritated about all the ebay links.

Well, Upstate said at the top he voted "Yes" and I know I did the same so just maybe, your "guess senses" are lettin' you down :).

What about the other 8 votes that didn't fess up? Me thinks my spidey senses work jist bout fiine!

That's what I would vote for but it's not one of the choices. What's the frickin' hurry to sell your crap? Post the item here for a week and if it doesn't sell put it on Ebay. That way you've given the forumites first crack at it so there's no need to post an Ebay link here. Anyone that can't do it this way is obviously just here to spam rather than contribute.

I voted no because I aggree with Ocnor. I dont think you should put an eBay link in the first post for the sell of your item. If you want the members here to be "loyal", place your ad for your item at a price you feel is fair and give them first shot at it. If after a week or so when there are no buyers, then place it on ebay and post the ebay link to your thread.

I voted not sure. A real fence sitter on this issue. I do like having FA for the ebay items. Also, I prefer members post here for a few days before ebay if you really want to give members a shot at your stuff. But the bottom line is, it's your stuff, do with it how you like.

As far as the arguement for selling fast, everything I have listed for sale on this site and GS, has sold pretty fast or I mis-priced the item. I love the commercial about buying the new TV playing now, "I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it NOW!"

my .02 cents

Charlie

As far as I can see there were only two people who may have thought you were being a bit assish so I guess that leaves six unaccounted for :D

EDIT........better make that 8.

Fishmed, haven't you posted an Ebay link at least once in the past? ;)

You know what? ... I did :( SHAME ON ME!!!!! :(

But I still think it would be a good rule since we are bringing it up.

This poll is interesting to see how people feel about ebay links in general...looks like the No votes are winning right now however the votes seem pretty divided...divided enough for seperate section I think...almost half of the members who voted so far would like to see a seperate section for ebay links...you can still have the ebay links in the Free Ads for Music recording equipment however just seperated.

I also notice it says "Free Ads for Music Recording Equipment "however it seems people are linking for other non music related items as well...however thats a whole different topic and its not up to me to address it...

I say no because then when I'm searching for a specific item, I have to search multiple forums.... PITA!!!

I want you all to know that Dragon is monitoring this thread closely and plans to take immediate action! :D

I voted no.

I can picture tons of people regestering on the forum just to sell their crap. I would rather people regester to share info and music.

I voted no because I can't see how it hurts me or this forum at all. If I don't like what I see when I click a thread, I click another. Or go have a beer. In this forum or any other. No harm done.

What? The way it is now is the same thing except people post without notifying that it's an ebay link. The only difference is these people would have to post ebay links in a separate section of the "For Sale" section.

What's it really matter if a FS post also has a link to an ebay listing. If it is something you are looking for, it shouldn't matter the source ( solely here or though ebay). If the seller is a respected member here(re:good guy list), then that would be a plus. I suspect that some that don't like the idea of ebay links in posts have a personal problem with ebay and have gotten burned though that process. IF this is the case, why begrudge everyone else?

I think the "Good Guy List" should be condensed down into a single post with a list of all the names in order.

On the other hand, I think there should be some rules with a sticky to stay on top in the Free Ads for Music / Recording Equipment forum. Such as, posts have to start with FS, FA, FT, WTB. Also, this would be a good place to have another sticky for the "Good Guy List"

It's all about wanting to buy something without the "hassle" of going to ebay, and bidding on an item, and waiting, and then waiting some more, and then getting sniped at the last minute. If I want to buy something, I just want to buy the fucking thing. Not play games and wait a week.

Plus I don't like the idea of folks trolling around the internet posting their ebay link wherever they think they can drum up some business. It's like people running small businesses, I just want to deal with people who actually come here because they like it, not because they are trying to make as much money as possible. I'm on other forums, I used to buy tons of car parts from one place and it was never as bad as here with constantly being let down by another ebay post.

I do use ebay, but it's pretty much the last resort if I can't find an item used somewhere else first.

So just because you don't like it, you going to jump up and down and annoy the crap out of others who don't particularly care either way .

Like I said before, I voted for a seperate section and I'll happily admit that at times finding an Ebay link in a for sale thread can be a bit frustrating but for God's sake, you're carrying on as though it's the end of the world and your opinions the only acceptable one.

Go play some music and take a chill pill.
