Now that my M520 is gone I have a M512 that took one too many bumps in shipping. Should I just sell it as is or part it out. It is a shame to part it but if the parts make some others M512/520 whole it would be good.

Regards, ethan

I dunno, Ethan...There have been several on CL in the past few months and they are only getting $100-$200.

If you *do* part it out I might be interested in any "TASCAM" jumpers if it has any of them, and potentially some color caps.

How have "too many bumps" manifested in this mixer?

Not too many bumps. The motherboard was cracker which I repaired. some of the pots need to be straightened and or replaced. It appears to be fixable and actually close to being "fixed".

I did notice the very low selling price of the M512/20 mixers and thought that I could get more $ by parting and perhaps help someone with their project. I did plan on keeping the meter bridge if I part it. Options would be to sell the mixer minus the bridge for $150 or so. Or to just take it apart and piece it out.

You know my garage - I need the space (currently there is a Radar on the bench taking up room along with a lot of other boat stuff) I really need to reclaim the space.

PS I'm not out in Beaverton anymore. We have moved to the Hill.

I got mine in need of some "minor" repair with minty manual for $100. Saw one in Corvallis forrrr...$150?

Mine is 100% now and I was going to sell it for $200 but the kids are using it now.

Yeah, you and your garage. :D

Well, if you decide to part it, I may be interested in some bits.

What kind of shape are the side panels in?

If you part it out, I could use some knobs... a few spare channel and buss modules would be nice to have on hand.... I dunno. I had a bad Teac 5 that I think I just tossed in the trash, and I wish I'd kept a few modules....

Sweetbeats, are you talking about the sidepanel sheet metal or the wood trim. The wood on this is just painted fir and with your Walnut you should be able to come up with something very nice.

PM me for parts -

I was talking about the faux wood side panels. This would be for my M-512...not interested in investing the time and effort to make walnut panels because I'll be selling mine at some point.
