I know... I know... This is probably a no brainer but I'm sure there's some people who don't know yet.
Anyway... here it is!
Instead of saving your session audio files as .WAV files... Save them as the highest quality .MP3 you can get! Actually, in Cool Edit Pro 2.0, there is a setting for Highest Quality... Use that. This will take a 50mb file and change it to (about) a 4.5mb file! Your hard drive will love you and your playback will be smoother. Plus, the playback won't distort.
And, when you want to backup your files to a CD, you can do so without using multiple disks or using major compression.
