I'm considering getting my first control surface for cubase 5. I don't have much of a budget for it and absolutely no experience with them. My interface is a mackie onyx 1640 so I don't have a MIDI portion. So, if at all possible I'd like something that's USB or Firewire. I'm looking to spend between 100 and 200. Any recommendations for a control surface?

look into the bcf behringer rotary/slider interfaces. seem pretty decent and good rep around the internet

thanks, I had looked at the bcf but being that its a behri product I wasn't sure of its quality.

On that cheap of a budget, there's also a little unit from Korg called NANO Control. You might want to look at those, too.

Thanks for the recommendations! Keep 'em coming... I just felt I should also post that I'm running XP64. For some reason vendors tend to forget about supporting this OS. I've heard that the behringer one has problems in xp64.
