Nope... I sent many PM's (Note: Steve removed his ad).

Why not pay the Dragon for a banner and etc if you want to advertise on hr.com?

I've been making a good living with my studios for over a decade, I'm pretty confident.

Not not to argue with you persay, but that is the kind of statement that a lot of people toss out to back themselves up. The old, "I was doing this long before everyone else" type thing.

Funny thing is, is that most of these people have digital based studios, nothing to say they have been doing it for 10-20 years...or more in some cases...and the biggest thing of all, is that 15 years ago almost everything was analog and even the new digital stuff cost more than an arm and a leg, so most of these people should theoredically have a hell of an operation going on if they were able to afford all the pricey gear. Lots of outboard equipment, lots of stuff that isn't contained inside a simple computer.

But most studios don't come accross to me like they ever had that stuff.

I have emailed HR TWICE to request pricing, not that it's your job to know. Never got a response.

why not finish your argument in another forum?

Why don't you go in the other room and let the adults talk, okay.

I respect that... but, try again... Blue Bear Sound has a banner, maybe ask him about it.

I started out with a Biamp board and a 16 track fostex 1/2 running a 15 ips with dbx in a basement. It was 1990. Before that I was doing stuff on 4 track and running live sound when I wasn't in a touring band playing guitar (mostly). I had a couple of DBX 160s and an spx90 and a quadraverb.

1996 came along and I ditched everything to get a Soundcraft Ghost and 5 Da-88s a Rack full of compressors, effects by lexicon and TC electronics. I also built a commercial space. It was cool. go to this link at massive mastering to see it in the early days http://www.massivemastering.com/html/photos.html

That was my studio and John was my studio manager. I closed that studio because my lease was up and they wanted to double the rent.

I did free-lance for 2 years while I was building my current facility. I have been slowly getting rid of my outboard gear that I haven't used in a while. There is no need for the racks of compressors and gates anymore with the computer doing most of the work.

I have been here for 2 years and can still afford the house, cars, wife, 16 year old daughter, 7 cats and a dog. All from the studio income.

Not everyone ends up like Bob Rock, some of us just plug along quietly.

Blue bear sound also has a link in his signature.

If someone wants to post a link to their business in a signature, I don't have a problem with that. If anything it gives me an idea of who I'm getting advice from if they're responding to a thread I'm reading. Sure it gives them additional exposure, but I don't see what's wrong with that. No one has to use their services unless they want to. My 2 cents.

DJL is just petty at times. Even I have Emailed HR a bunch of times to buy banner space but no response. They suck at that part but excell in other areas.

If you dont have a blatant SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH ME signature who freakin cares. these sigs help acquaint ourselves with other potential helpful people (dealers/sellers/studios/producers, etc...)

That's a good idea. I don't know why they haven't responded but it's one of those things. Whatever it was I found to contact someone it basically said "for advertising info do this" and that's what I did.

I gotta ask, are you getting a commission? I've never been pushed this hard for a sale. :) Feels like a shake down.

Lol... sometimes I wish I was... but no, and if I was offered payment I wouldn't except it. Hey, can you at least make you Front End Audio billboard smaller? Thanks

Its really sad that everybody and their mother has a "professional" recording studio.

I wonder how many of them know how to use it?

why is it sad? has your mother shown you how to use it?
