Public Mix Contest #4!!!!

Hello folks.

Its time for Number 4.
This---without a doubt, will be the most fun/challenging material to mix to date in these contests. The music is a blend of rock/symphony/progressive/hardcore. The band is my own--Garudas Mission. These tracks were never released on our new album, because ive since rearranged some things on the tune.
So i figured since they were just collecting dust....you guys could have fun mixing them.

RULES>>>

No altering of material.(means--dont remix it, dont drumagog it, etc etc etmutherf'incetera..)

Download deadline will be 10-31-04.

Entries deadline will be 11-02-04.

Winner will be announced on 11-07-04.

You must leave Giles 117 a note on your post if you do not intend your current mix to be your final entry.

FORMAT>>>

These files are individually ZIPPED. (Easier for you dial up folk)
They are in 44/16 (44.1khz sample rate and 16 bit resolution)
All files are .Wav format.

JUDGES/ACTING PARTICIPANTS>>>

Bruce Valeriani from Blue Bear Sound, Bryan Giles from Patricks Den Studios, and Guitarhunnie will be doing the judging for this contest. (the BBS equivalent of the "American Idol" judges if you will)
Giles117 will be doing double duty this time and will be hosting the files as well as judging them. Thanks to the three of you, much appreciated! :)

For those of you seeking a motivational prize.
I dont have one for you! :D
Depending on your perception of the value of these contests.... It could be said that the best prize is being able to mix something you would have never had the opportunity to mix.

Or you can think im a cheapskate....:cool:

Either way is A-Ok with me.

However, Blue Bear has been kind enough to turn 1 lucky winners rough tracks into audio silk.
Meaning he will do a Free mix of any one song you choose.

that synphony in the backgrund is still killing me.

We also have another judge to round out our panel........ GuitarHunny will be the "Paula Abdul" to our "Randy Jackson" and "Simon Cowell", so we'll have a well rounded panel of judges!
 
Actually - I will also put up a "prize", such as it is... I will provide a free mixing session (ie, one song) to the contest winner.

When you say "No altering of material" that also means No Drum Replacing does it not?

Hmmm... Maybe this time I actually will give it a try. That sounds cool.

Do you have a reference mix or anything ?
 
Now, when you say "no drumagog," does that mean that we can use drumagog?
 
I got an Error 404 - File Not Found on every one of the zip files.

Now I can't get to the folder at all...
Out of bandwidth I guess... that's what the main page says.
 
Now, when you say "no altering of material," I understand that I can't alter the material that's there, but how about ADDING material. I have this bitching accordian part (countered with a kazoo for balance) that just sounds super. I can ADD those, right?
