Problem w/ ADAT/Connect sync

More ADAT questions....

I have two ADAT XTs, I have been transferring my 16 tracks out of the ADATs into the computer. The problem is, all 16 tracks have the same start time, but I have to transfer in 1 tape at a time. So, I put one set of tracks in. everything is cool. Switch the lightpipes to the second machine transfer in the next set of tracks (w/ the EXACT same start time!!) and then when I load them into my multitracking program to mix them the second set of 8 tracks is like 1 second ahead or behind the first set of tracks to be transferred in. Why is that? Any ideas?
 
What do you have to tell the program where the 2nd set of tracks are suposed to go?
You can grab one set and move them over. -easier if there's a click or something to align to.
 
Don't move the lightpipe, just put the 2nd tape in the same machine with the same start and end times.
