hi everybody
i am looking for a simple, compact audio tape recorder with following features:
- stereo recording (e.g. 2 channel)
- standard tape, normal speed
- external mic input, headphone output
- powered by battery or power supply
- recording level display (VU meter)
- recording level control
- pitch (speed) adjust during playback

nice-to-have-features
- CINCH input & output
- built-in speaker
- DOLBY NR

has anybody seen such a thing at an affordable price (< 200 $) ??

I have seen several "Boom Boxes" that would meet your needs. Most of them don't have VU meters, because they usually have auto-level control. I have a "Sony" that I really like. It makes some decent recordings. Look for one with a CD/AUX
input. Then you can run a couple of mikes through a small mixer or pre-amp, into the recorder.
