Can anyone recommend a good CD writer for mastering to? One preferably that can connect via S/P DIF DATA INPUT and OUTPUT connectors of the Fostex VF-08. Problem is budget - I don't have a lot of money to spend.
Thanks in anticipation.

CD MASTERING

i HAVE THE CR300 AND I LOVE IT,I RUN THE FD-4 OPTICAL TO THE CR 300 OR I RUN IT OPTICAL THROUGH MY TC ELECTRONICS FINALIZER PLUS THEN TO THE CR 300,GREAT PEICE IS KINDA EXPENSIVE BUT COMPLEMENTS FOSTEX EQUIPMENT.

Jonboy.

I use the Philips 770 to master my CD's. You can use the optical out on the 8 and direct into the 770. They are about $399.

Many thanks to sleep and bbbmusic.
Sleep - the CR300 - who makes it?

bbbmusic - I know of the Philips machine, and this might sound silly - but the low price kinda put me off. Its definitely within my budget but is it a good machine?

I've also had a recommendation on the Tascam CD-RW700 which is a bit pricier (I think it has A/D conversion abilities - which I'm unlikely to use which might render it a wee bit superficial).

Thanks again guys.
Any other suggestions our there.

Jonboy,

I don't know of many people that have the Philips 770 or the 775 (dual) that think they lacjk anything. I would put my CD's that I master up against the best. You would have to be a master to be able to tell the difference in sound reproduction.
