I don't cook! That's woman work.
I cook, and cook well. Oh, the ignorance.

Then get your fairy ass over here and make me some pancakes.
hi Greg,
I have a little (11' X 11') pocket studio.
I have acoustic drums, a 1 X12 guitar amp, a 1 X15 bass amp, a 21" CRT & PC,
a 16 channel mixer going into 2 motu 2408's. I also have 10-14 mics hooked up, and three or four mic stands, the res of the mics are hanging off of amps, the ceiling, or are attached to drums. I have (2) stools, and a small bookelf my preamp, power amp, monitor, leyboard annd mouse sit on. The pc sits on the floor.
On two of my walls I have 4" thick oc703 from the floor to about 36" in height, spaced 3" off the wall (this is becasue I hav a shelf on two walls about 9" deep at 40" height, covering the top of the foundation walls); I have 5 panels of oc703 that measure 2' X 4' X 3", (3) hanging off the ceiling 2" and (2) leaning against a wall. I also have two tightly wound rolls of r19 bat covered in fabric as bass traps.
Imho, you can always add reverb; my room is pretty dead frankly, but it seems to be working for me. The other thing i wanted to comment on is that I don't see how in the world you can have room for a couch: I just have room for myself and another guitar player since I added drums, There is just not enough room for anything that is not 100% related to music. You do have 4 more square feet than I do, but still......
It's not that the "corners" benefit from having bass traps in them, it's just that corners are often wasted space and you can fill them up with bass traps and not impact the useable space available.
Not that there is a formula, but I have 121 sq ft room, and I have 100+ sq ft plus of absorption/bass trap in there - If you get my drift, to have a seriously tangible effect on the acoustic properties of your room, you have to do a whole lot of work - every little bit helps, but chamfering a couple of corners with bass traps/oc703 is not going to make the kind of difference you hope it will.
To sum up, I can record anything I want in my little space and I am pretty happy with it, but there is not room to swing a dead cat, and it took another couple of months of experimenting with the acoustic treatment before I was satisfied with it.
Best of luck to you, and keep studying/experimenting.
Feel free to contact me off-forum w/questions.
cheers,
Chris
Grammar Nazi alert - it's "grommet", not "gromit".

Dude you have slipped a frig'n cog! With you earlier post and now this one I don't know what to think. One can only hope that the drugs were off and you once again become lucid. If in fact you're lucky enough to be on dope and not this way permenantly you may want to revisit this BBS when sober so you can see how fucked you have become when on what ever it is you are on.
If you're not on something and you're thinking everything is cool, you may want to seek help.

You must have digital drums, or just a smaller kit for that to work.
