First, Stetto, I'm *not* a monkey. Secondly, you are one of the few people in this thread who are *not* bashing Taylors, except the one being destroyed by a clueless kid with too much money. And I'll freely admit to bashing Ovations. But why not? It won't damage them much, as long as you hit them in the back. I actually used to have a cheap Applause, which was good for camping. I used it for several years as the expendable camping guitar.-Richie

I am in NO way bashing Taylors. I don't like there sound - I think they are boring as hell - but you will never hear me say they are not well made, nor that they are not a great company. They skip a few details which I would expect on a guitar as expensive as their high end models, but they are very well made guitars. On top of that, their customer service is far above average. If every company had service like that, it would be a much different, and much better world for consumers.

Taylor guitars did not become as popular as they are by trying to copy what other guitars sound like. They have their own sound just like any other make of guitar. I personally like the crisp tone colours and the way they project over the Martin and Gibson acoustics. (Thats just me), but it does not by any means make it better or worse than any other guitars, just different. Which brings me to my next point, aside from personal taste, not all guitars perform equally, If I wanted to play an acoustic rock ballad, I might use a taylor, if I wanted to play something more layed back and subtle, I might use a Martin, etc. (again just my opinion), It is just that the sounds of the guitars I like, work with the music I like.

Good point right there.

When I play guitars that cost lets say $1200 or so up they all sound good. They sound different but I usually get something out of them I like.
