All of these fricking wires!

Got my second Dx-4d today and hooked it up and moved a few things around in the studio today.
I wanted to put my Fostex reverb in the same rack as the Dbx units but it doesnt seem to want to get along with other things next to it. HUM! so it will have to sit on the table next to the rack.
Still need to pick up a compressor or two and maybe another effects unit, Dont know about that though cause i have that little mini verb by alesis that i have never used except on one session and it was just used for reverb in the head phone mix for the vocal mic. Anyway enough Rambling

Tascam doesn't get along with Fostex, eh? Imagine that!;)
 
I think you can buy sheets of material for magnetic shielding. I think it's on the pricey side but this stuff does exist. There is also shielding paint used inside guitar and bass wiring comparments.

One place I can suggest to start looking is
PartsExpress.com

If you're not using a power conditioner that could help too. But not just the cheap spike strip. You'd need something nice that will let you run off the battery's cleaner power.
 
Ahhh, so that's what the silver stuff in my guitar is!!!

I've never before heard of this stuff.
How come the tops and bottoms of rack gear aren't "Finished" in it? OR Is it in the inside of some gear?

I had just did a clean up of that area You cant see the rest of the mess behind the camera.

That window does look into my live area, Its a 12.5 X 18.5 with a 8 X12 offset that the drums sit in. Ya know Im pretty fortunate that i have the whole basement for my self and my toys, about 800 square feet after things like the furnace and a small storage area and with all that space it seem like there is just never enough room for everything I want to do. I dont know what i would do If i had reel,s stuff .

Hey Reel I think the fostex might play well with the tascam after all, after a little work last night I figured out that the reverb pics up a huge amout of the hum from my stereo amp that it was sitting next too.
So that problem I think is gone.

The special shielding material is called mu metal. It is expensive, but any conductive grounded metal enclosure will shield EM signals, even bronze window screening. It's called a Farraday Cage.
