Yeah I been drinkin, SO!?
I'm using protools 5.3.1 I know it's old, but hey, it does the job. I've gotten to the point in my recording that I'm interested in some mastering plugins. I'm hoping to compensate a little for the drastic (to my ears) loss in quality when I go from a 24-bit mixing environment to a 16-bit CD. Since my version of protools is so old, I'm wondering:
1) Do I need to upgrade before I even dream of getting mastering plugins?
2) Might I get some for really cheap or even free, since I'm so behind the times? (Hey, I can hope, can't I)
