OK. Can't play along while track is playing

I just got Cubase bundled w/ the EMU 1820, now I may have an installation issue with my EMU-1820 and Audigy2 Soundcards...BUT...a technician is coming in to correct that one this afternoon. In the meanwhile i've been familiarizing myself with Cubase VST5.1 and put together a 7 track song to practice...I know i'm probably missing some really simple step, but what do you need to click in the strips or mixer to enable sound to play through while you're listening to a mix. i.e. I would like to practice along on the Alesis to see if it matches up with the guitar track I just recorded. Currently. I don't get any sound UNLESS actively recording. Any ideas??? :rolleyes:
 
It would seem to me that you should be able to insert an audio track that has the inputs you are using for the Alesis's audio out's assigned to it and turn on monitoring for that track.
At least that's how I would go about doing it in Nuendo. Which is pretty much the same as Cubase SX. Now as far as Cubase VST .... I don't know if it is the same, as I've never used VST.
