Hey Steve,
I like your interpretation of this........ the latin feel is nice. The sax is , as always, amazing.

The only suggestion I would offer is a roll-off on the bass. ......Im guessing around 6k and up should do it. I would roll it all off too..... Its a good bass part, just too much jangle and noise.

Great stuff man!!

"The sax tone is pretty damn convincing. I didn't know midi could do that kind of thing. I also agree with the drunken dobro's comment about after 2:50, things get a little less coltrane and a little more Kenny G-ish. well, maybe not that bad but a little too much flair for my taste."

Damn, I wish you would actually *read* what I write. LOL

Don't drag me into your mistakes. I'm too busy trying to get myself out of mistakes I've dragged my own self into. LOL

I read it....kinda.. :) "Sax nirvana" is what I read. It's all in how you read it, Dobs. We have this great aspect of communication called sarcasm. I assumed you were familiar with this technique and were deftly applying it here. Perhaps I was wrong.

I still think the sax kicks ass. Apparently, midi CAN'T do that. :D BTW, I'll stand by the flair comment. :D:D:D

Why am I so freakin' late on this? I think I thought this was another thread, and I got confused b/c this didn't have the word "Grinch" in the title (*hint* - my 5 year old is still waiting... *tap* *tap* *tap*).

I wouldn't insult you with mix comments, b/c you're just very very good at (apparently) everything. Man, I'm really waiting for you to step in it at some point...you know; just totally flub one. Please? Do that just to prove you're mortal? For me?

I think I like you're playing best when you're doing little fills at low volume...it just sounds effortless. I guess it is, at this point, eh? Anyway...you add a touch of class to this place, and this is no exception.

Yeah... what Chris said about "thinkin' this was ANOTHER thread..."

Maybe since that fabulous JMarcomb/Sluice collab has seared the words "leave well enough alone" indelibly on my corpus callosum... just thought this thread was something I'd heard already

(....Naw, that was LAME :D)

Now, you know it's killer when I get my ass out of the chair and start the samba, like some sexy, short dress wearing slut with those fancy heels on ;) (course, it came out looking more like the funky chicken :()

Man, I hope we don't take Steve's horn-talent for granted. He gets great articulation and feel out of that little casio horn patch :)

BTW isn't the only difference between "Greensleeves" and "What Child is This", music wise, the 5th note in the melody is a natural (Greensleeves) or a flat (WCIT)? Only Steve or Al might know that...

Great stuff, and it's a really interesting contrast to what's been done so far on the whole "XMAS" clinic thing. Therefore, it will stand out (in a GREAT way, actually).

I was confused as to WHY THIS THREAD SLIPPED TO PAGE 2????

Just a bump... was looking for a creative way to do it... failed ;)

Speaking of bumps, I have been shamelessly searching the forum for the place to deposit my 1000th post! Looking...looking...looking...OH YES! This is it! I mean, ChrisHarris hasn't posted a new tune today, and I already replied to my own thread about three too many times.

I mean, who to bump rather than the one guy who has made my rambling sonic experiments sound like SONGS, fo pete's sake?

So, this posts for you, Steve--er, Lt. Bob! I know my life is going to change the minute I hit that 'submit reply' button!

1k Silver, here I come!

Lt. Bob

Plenty of space and everything in its place....I love it.
