I still have some problems with music that starts distortion early. I recorded everything with good material (rode ntk, behringer ub802 mixer) and echo mia midi soundcard. I will compare with a commercial cd. The volume of my recording is very low, compared to the commercial cd (without any clipping signals). And still when I turn op the volume my music starts distorting earlyer then the tracks on the commercial cd. Example of a recording: http://foodnews.be/example.wav

Is it a fact that music with a low amplitude start distorting earlyer than music with a higher amplitude?

I don't understand it, please help me

Rataplan,
I'm no expert, but if you are comparing your product with a commercial CD you're missing one vital point. The commercial CD has been professionaly mastered and I'm assuming yours hasn't?

The pro mastering process will get the commercial CD sounding louder than you can with yours, without distorting the music.

Just a guess. Of course if you have paid for pro-mastering then I'm wrong and i take it back.
