wow
u really think so??
maybe i'm just a lil too critical of our stuff, but i think we got a loooong way to go.
you say you like dsong alot, that good to hear. we were kinda worried about repetition in that one. but once we put words above the music it will fill out, i hope.
anyway, i have been comparing it to other demo recordings i have and it still sounds very "garage". i wonder what were doing wrong. everything we've done with the roland vs2480 (should be good enough to get reeely good sounding stuff out of, right?) still sounds like 4 track stuff.
thanx for the input, bob, thanx alot!!

and by the way,
are u serious about people being intimidated upon listening and hearing that were really good?? this may sound kinda funny, seeing as how it's good be good, but i really hope not.
i don;t consider myself, or the musicians i work with above average. i think people would react and respond to me diffrently if they see me on an equal plane.
and it kinda doesn't add up, lol, were reeeely newbies to this recording thing.

Yes, I am serious about people being intimidated. A case in point:
Post a song on the MP3 Clinic, wait two weeks and compare the number of responses to the number of actual listens the song gets. Why are these numbers so out of line with each other? 80 listens and only two comments. Possibilities:

1. You suck, and people are trying to be kind.
2. Your stuff is not their cup of tea, and they don't feel comfortable commenting.
3. Your stuff is better than their stuff, and their ego will not allow them to be generous or encouraging.

You'll never know what their reasons are for not commenting pro or con, so don't go crazy trying.

I have found most musicians to be very egotistic, self-aggrandizing, self-centered and vain. This is the nature of the beast. The music business is a cutthroat biz, and a healthy ego is a prerequisite.

As for the quality of the recordings - if you're not happy, hire someone good to mix them. Sometimes it's good to bring in another pair of ears. I think it sounds just fine, though.

Bob
