All you have is now
Thought I'd make a thread where we all can post our latest and greatest "works" where AI played some role in the making thereof..

When you post them if you are so inclined provide the details of what is AI and what isn't including the lyrics. Also If the song has lyrics post them with the tune.

Below is a video from Dave Goode the drummer I work with in the Brent Payne band. He's the one that hipped me to Suno AI and Moises.
He is a tasty percussionist.
The only thing in this that is not AI is Dave doing his percussion thing...

The music, the lyrics were created after being given Ronny Norths instrumental as an example of what Dave wanted from Suno.

Dave extracted the AI track and then jammed along with it for this result.

Morning Breeze DGMix, by #RonnyNorth

Done in #SunoAI and #Moises apps

Morning Breeze

[Verse]
The night is over the stars have fled
Sunrise paints the sky with threads of red
Feet in the sand where dreams once lay
A new tune hums to greet the day
[Chorus]
Morning breeze whispers slow
Carrying songs only oceans know
The world begins to sway and tease
Under the spell of the morning breeze
[Verse 2]
Guitar strings hum the tide’s refrain
Salt on the air a sweet champagne
The world’s so big but feels so small
When the morning calls it gives us all
[Chorus]
Morning breeze whispers slow
Carrying songs only oceans know
The world begins to sway and tease
Under the spell of the morning breeze
[Bridge]
Driftwood dreams and open skies
A seagull laughs as the old world dies
Nothing heavy nothing to keep
Just a melody rolling deep
[Chorus]
Morning breeze whispers slow
Carrying songs only oceans know
The world begins to sway and tease
Under the spell of the morning breeze

That's some tasty drum work. You don't get that same feel out of dragging drum patterns into a midi track unless you really know how to program them.

a million old men came to
some had boners
some were hungry
me - well i was shocked

all this time
i thought i was dead
it was in my head
a long dream

i find myself in a hot land
where young people speak short hand
i use my giggle to know what they say
shocked - i push back into my booth

she said
you look long in the tooth
I smiled
and clutched my scarf

we eyed one another
non verbal
when her hand appeared
i looked

i find myself in a hot land
where young people speak short hand
i use my giggle to know what they say
shocked - i take a truth away

i say -- hey girl
let us dance
so we cut the carpet
now i am hungry

i piss in a flower pot
sit down and roll a joint
look for a lighter
scrape my finger on the cobble

i find myself in a hot land
where young people speak short hand
i use my giggle to know what they say
shocked - i take a truth away

slow grow is a flower
the tow tower falls
my human dean see
a long ago dream

i want my strength
i need to be young
my bilingual tongue
is tortured

all of us are strong
when we speak in tone
a shrill high epic hurl
look...there is a girl

i see her speak in Greek
i think she orders wine
then she looks at mine
i will have that

a light year later
she sits at my table
we go eye to eye quietly
sipping

all of us are wanting
when we think
a low no tow
now...a girl

over a crust
we be our must have
pushing and pulling
toward a hi

it is a luck
if we fuck
i get the feeling
down under

we are wanting
as we think
a low go to know
now.. my girl wants me

i feel solid
i wheel
she smiles
look at the sky

I've been lucky to play with some really good drummers over the years. Dave Goode is REALLY good. I have worked with some that might be a smidge "technically" better but Dave is for certain the most dedicated and deep dive conscious player I have ever worked with. The tiniest of minor details are a big deal to him. His timing is impeccable and dynamics are second to none...from a whisper to a scream. Lucky he chooses to work Brent and the gang, he's a hoot.

Check out this song!
It's a love hate thing...I hate that AI can do this but I love that AI can do this and I really dig this tune... Are these your lyrics? I swear if I went back 50 years and heard this song I'd of loved it...now I hate it because it's harshing my mellow about the future of music as we know it...BTW is your name Vince? Who's Vince?

I was watching the Dylan movie and this started percolating in my head.
So yeah it’s me trying to be him. Omg.

No my name is Bob. My first Suno account is Manslick but for some reason, I deleted it and now it won’t let me back in until next week so in the meantime, I created a second account and just used Vince for no good reason.

Dave asked Suno to make a tune in the James Brown realm of things...Got ants in my pants!

Damn Dave is not human, he's a cyborg kick butt drum machine with feeling.
With Suno he has finally found a kick ass band that will play any type of song he wants them to play at his beck and call 24 /7.
AND fricking keep perfect meter on every single song :laughings:

So I saw a reel where Mike (Anna) Pippin did this song called slow ride... Man I just loved it and Ol mike with his gravely voice and ancient looking ZZ top bearded kind of look just totally fit the feel of the song...but then as I listened to the song ( not knowing at the time he was lip syncing to to it) I wanted to know who wrote this originally....Well it turns out the song was written ( well at least the lyrics) by a new Artist named Andrew Dykes...Down that rabbit hole...went to his youtube channel and he has a bunch of really cool songs...but nothing live...always just a still picture of some black guy with a guitar ....Hmmmm? could he be using AI...Well I did a "deep dive" and yes he is using AI for at least the vocals...probably all of the music too. I totally love this song and it isn't a human singing! It is the body electric singing emerging from that twilight zone episode to turn the music world upside down....

I looked up this Dykes guy and on one of his Facebook posts, someone asked a question about using AI but replacing "humanity".

Myrna Dee Dee Hardy
Love your message! I’ve heard these AI vocals before on YouTube and in gospel, blues, and biblical blues music without any vocalist credits. As a blues singer, I’m curious, why choose AI vocals? They sound great, and I’m sure they’re quick and affordable. But isn’t this just another way of replacing humanity in music and diminishing the need for collaboration and creativity?
🤔

Andrew Dykes

Myrna Dee Dee Hardy Hello Myrna,
Thank you for this thoughtful question, I truly appreciate it. I actually write and produce all of my music myself. The stories, lyrics, instrumentation, and arrangement are all me.
I use AI vocals not to replace humanity, but to express it - it allows me to bring my ideas to life quickly, affordably, and consistently while I keep growing as an independent creator. It’s simply the voice I use to deliver my message, my writing, and my experiences to the people who connect with it.
I also give full transparency about my process on my page because the integrity of the music matters to me. Collaboration is still very much part of what I do, this tool just helps me share more music with the world without slowing down the creativity.
I truly appreciate you sharing your perspective as a blues singer. Much love.

So, is he a prolific writer/instrumentalist who just can't carry a tune in a basket? With the anonymity of the internet, who will really know who this person is, and how much he actually does. There are a few other "artists" who make similar claims. I tend to just pass on this stuff.

So far I've avoided the temptation to throw a few of my incomplete projects into one of these AI generators. While it might end up making a complete song, I don't think I would find the same satisfaction that I get from actually performing the song myself.

Thanks for the deeper dive into Dyke's..You're right who knows what he really is..or isn't.

With regard to letting AI have a whack at my tunes...I definitely plan on using it in the coming months God willing and the creek don't rise. Prior to my drummer getting me to take a look and me accidentally letting it take a song I wrote and recorded and totally turn it into a completely superior version, I was like you. Not really interested in even considering it. Nothing like getting slammed in the face with reality to wake you up. In minutes it took these great lyrics that my daughter and I wrote and used them in a re=arranged much different musically song with Toby Keith and Carrie Underwood quality level singers singing the lyrics...I had no idea the song could sound so much better...so Grammy winning incredible. I mean yes the lyrics are really cool and the way my Daughter and I performed it "for our purposes" The father daughter wedding dance at her wedding was awesome, brought tears to peoples eyes and it was cool. I did put it out on Distrokid but it never has ever really done anything. I am very certain had I put the version that AI made out it would be being used as the father daughter dance at 1000's of weddings in a New York minute. It's that good...that much superior to what I did on my own. I'm a good song writer, a decent keyboard player and a so so singer and together I do my thing. Now if I had decided to go the songwriter route and worked as a part of a song writing staff for a record company what they do is no different than what I plan on doing this coming year. They pass the bones of the song and lyrics to session musicians and pro vocalist and hits are made. Ai is able to do it much faster, potentially better and all at a very low cost with no hands in my pockets of the royalties for their making it all happen for the life of the song.

As an experiment, I uploaded my recorded music and lyrics that I'd written into Suno. I really wrote it with a female singer in mind and working by myself, I just don't have access to a choice of vocalists here, so... I wrote the music about 2 years ago and the lyrics came about in November thinking about how I just wasn't feeling the "holiday wonder" that I did when I was a kid. My mom died last year, I'm in my 50s now and things just don't seem as special. I was suprised at how quickly I was able to pull the lyrics together with the use of Claude. I told it the story (above) and with most of the lyrics written and asked it to help with the parts I was having trouble with. I would say I wrote 95% of the total lyrics, but with Claude helping with decision making and giving me some choices. It would suggest something that wasn't quite right but then it would propel my brain into coming up with what DID work. I'm super happy with my lyrics and I love the music I'd written but wasn't quite sure I could sing that for the best effect, so Suno did the vocals. It took about 6 tries to get it to do what I wanted but I'm happy with the result. I plan on re-recording the whole thing in my studio and finding a female vocalist. I have already copyrighted the song and will update the recordings with new ones as available. It's not perfect but it's a great tool, if used as such, to get a demo out there and develop a song. What do you think?

It's a great song....So lets just go back 10 years and imagine if you posted this as something you wrote and recorded in your studio.
We'd be all "Oh man this is crazy good!"

This new chapter in songwriting, building and recording is incredible...

BTW what did you use to generate the video?

Congrats on taking a dive into the dark side...I've only put my toe in the water to date. I plan on diving in head first next year and having fun with what this new tech can do to help me get many of my songs and lyrics in completed decent sounding versions.

They will be much "better" than if I just stuck with the old fashioned way...and most would probably never be completed based upon my track record. At least now I can have some kind of musical representation of what has been on paper going back 50 years.... 50 songs in less than a few months easy...we'll see how it goes..

Again congratulations! I hope to see and hear more of your work!

Thanks TAE!
I kinda hate that the AI, even just used as a tool, has this stigma to it. Almost as if my song isn't "real" or something to some folks. That's why I'm just using it as a tool, I'll re do the vocals and re-record the song in my studio. I'll find a local vocalist, I hope, and maybe by then I'll have an album's worth for them to track.

No one gives shade to the sculptor for not giving credit to his chisel and hammer, no one blames the carpenter for not giving credit to the drill and saw... why does using AI to help complete the "crafting" of a song make any difference?

I used REVID for the video. but I wasn't all that happy with the service, decided to cancel it. I'll find something else in the future just to have something easy to post on YT.
