Ideas are lying around everywhere, you just have to pick them up...

Well, looks like everyone's given up reading, but I'm nothing if not persistent, so I'll continue... 😄

Song #4 - Hey Mister

This tune - and what I'm about to say makes it seem very serious instead of the uptempo dancey number it is 😄 - addresses, vaguely, some of the big changes the world is going through - and not so much from an opposition to the directions being taken, but from the way our leaders and the motley crew of activists that have spawned everywhere in recent years go about bending us to their will. Way too much doom, maniacal screaming, essentialism and completely unreasonable demands upon others by the west/and or those in power in the west on their constituents.

Sure, let's go there, but let's dial down the anger and use reason... or something like that.

So where did the idea come from? Its genesis was the referendum that Australia had over, essentially, enshrining some race-based things into our constitution. OMG, the condescension displayed by the government, academia, corporations, religious organisations, sports organisations - all saying it was the moral thing to do to vote YES to the proposal. Except it didn't turn out that way because people either reacted badly to the hectoring, or actually read and understood the proposal and its ramifications, or both.

Hey mister, I see what you see, so if you want me on your side then don't talk down to me...

Eight thousand million jigsaw pieces we have now
A puzzle I don’t think we’ll ever finish anyhow
You say the clock is ticking and that everyone will die
Is scaring the world half to death the way you want to fly?

Hey mister, I see what you see
So if you want me on your side then don’t talk down to me
Hey mister, this may all be true
Half the world may want to help but they’re not going to

For reasons we all understand the tide is headed west
We may not be nirvana but it’s clear we are the best
But you just raise your hammer, give your home another hit
Once you were a hippy friend now you’re a hypocrite

Hey mister, I see what you see
So if you want me on your side then don’t talk down to me
Hey mister, this may all be true
Half the world may want to help but they’re not going to

It seems the kids are finding brand new ways of using glue
Searching for someone or thing they can stick themselves to
And if you were a learned man you’d dial the scary down
But you are just a tiny man who wears a tiny crown

Hey mister, I see what you see
So if you want me on your side then don’t talk down to me
Hey mister, this may all be true
Half the world may want to help but they’re not going to
Hey mister, hey mister, hey mister, don’t talk down to me
Hey mister, hey mister, hey mister, don’t talk down, don’t talk down to me
Hey mister, hey mister
Don’t talk down to me, don’t talk down to me

Oi, it's only jazz and progressive rock albums that have 4 tracks. Where's the rest mate ? This has been interesting so far.
