OK. Let me catch up on the last comments.
Stratomaster--I probably have too much going on in those choruses. If I'd follow my own damn advice and keep it stripped down, it would probably be better. My faulty logic says: if it rocks with bass and two guitars, it must be better if I add a few more things! Thanks for the comments--will listen and play with it.
Khompewter--I was trying to rock out a little, yeah! I'm afraid that if I tried to do Pink Floyd, it would end up with a country feel, lol! I've always been a sucker for that Segar/Springsteen/Mellencamp populist rock thing--JCM being a distant third on the list. Its real hard to get the mixes just right, though. I'm digging getting opinions and ideas here--it really helps me on something like this.
mixmkr--Consensus seems to be to get some different kick sound and a new snare. I know the feel I want, but not sure about which sound to use. if it were the 80's, I'd get a big gated reverb and we'd be done, but that was then as they say! Almost panned the solo center--lol! hey, a BANJO might be cool in a couple spots!
ChrisHarris--the secret is run it through the big grey box! Then get out on the highway and crank it up as loud as possible while on the freeway! Thats the feel I want to get, anyway! Thanks for dropping by! Coming back to Juliet soon. Its in transition and I am a bit lost as to what to do. Waiting for that light bulb to go on.
Museman--Thanks! Hey, looks like we could be collab-mates here! We need to figure out what we want to do!
Jagular--Seems to be universal hatred for that kick drum. I gotta find something else! I want to keep things up for a while. One can only get reflective and philosophical for so long before it starts to backfire. I'm sure I'll dirge again soon anyway!
Participant--its great to see you back! You are a needed member of the madness here! Hope things have been more good than bad. Anyway--yes--some drum work still needed. I think its a cakewalk--just a matter of finding one of about 200 kik samples that fits in. So, have you been doing any recording? Still digging the RNP? I still listen to "Son, You're a Disappointment" from time to time--its so cool! I know thats not the real title, but thats what I call it.
Later guys, and thanks to all. I'm gonna keep working on this one...
