newbie needs help with logic express 9 plugins

dear sirs/ma'ams,
i have a question. i just started using logic express 9 and whenever i exit a plugin, i can't seem to call it up later on when i feel like changing the settings. example. i open up a software instrument track> i click hold on the input, i scroll down to the list of plugins and say i choose ultrabeat> then i now am able to plot my beats and then i drag the pattern to the track and all goes well.> however, when i click X to exit the plugin, i can't call it back out to the screen sometime later when i need to edit parameters or add a few more beats.

i tried clickhold, double click on the input (where it shows ultrabeat), i clickhold or double click on the mixer, on the track. it doesn't want to go back out. i updated my os, and logic. it's still the same problem. can you help me figure what to do please? thank you very much

i think instead of hitting x, just click out of the box. maybe 'x' locks it or something... weird. i have never had that problem

wait, are you hitting the x key or the little x icon?

Does this happen in all of your projects? Double-clicking the insert always works for me. I can only think of two possible reasons why it's not working for you:

1. The track is frozen. You would most likely know if you froze your track, but you can check by looking at the icons on your track. Here's an image of a frozen track: http://en.wikiaudio.org/images/5/5e/Freeze_track_enabled_logic.png You can't access any inserts on a frozen track.

2. Your screenset is somehow restricting you from seeing open insert windows. Push any of the numbered buttons on your keyboard (0-9) to change the screenset.
