enchilada. just some advice. yes - linux is great.
but be aware these are still early days for multitrack audio under it.
to be successfull i would recommend you really get into understanding the workings of linux. its not for people who couldnt be bothered even to understand how to use explorer in windows.
the ones ive seen making a go of linux are of the "lets get under the hood tekkie type". just be carefull. also i would try linux on a fresh machine rather than your current windows pc so nothing in win gets mucked up or the possibility thereof. i'm just trying to save you from mucking up any current windows pc you might have that runs smoothly and save you a bit of heartache in case some mistake was made.
if you try knoppix - it will run from a burnt cd for example and i think includes
audacity, and some mp3 stuff and so on. so it shouldnt interfere with any current win installation. just some tips to help. this is early days.
