The new Rio Grande "Muy Grande" pickups are installed and the guitar is back from being setup and all I can say is WOW! I'd found that I was quite displeased with the stock pickups in my late model American Standard Tele' so I started asking around and decided on the Muy Grandes'.

Holy crap are these things LOUD. I wish I could describe the sound that's now coming from my guitar. I'm not really good with all that jargon or how it will be interpeted by others but this thing sounds like a whole new guitar. No more "Twang", just great solid (loud) tone. Dare I say punchy but with Humbucker overtones?

I'm sorry that I can't give more detail on the sound coming out of the guitar but needless to say you won't be able to wipe the smile off my face for a while.

Here's a pic for you. I really like the Black/White color of the pickups and how thay compliment the White/Black/White pickguard.

I've recommended the Rio's for a bit now. I'm glad somebody else has got them. I've got a set of the Tallboys in my Tele that absolutely amaze me. Great pups...

I have to agree with you that I'm surprised more people aren't endorsing these pickups. I couldn't be happier. On top of that I got them in an eBay auction from an authorized dealer for about $45 less than I could find them anywhere else on the web.

I would recomend them without hesitation to anyone looking at a Tele' pickup upgrade.

Are these the ones Torres Engineering sells??

I put Muy Grandes in my Zion 50 a while back, and I still think they are the best sounding tele pups out there.
