No nylon strings in this song... to boomy without a nice preamp and compression... thats next on my list!!!!

I DID realize that there were no nylons in this song (so you don't think my ears are THAT out to lunch)...but I was just trying to make a point, that your stuff is making me want to buy the equipment you are using, because it sounds so good. How come you don't have a K-mart keyboard??;)

btw, you ARE getting a great mic'd sound on your Takamine, and I don't see the need for any worries on that end of the boat.

cya!!

Hey dude,

Inteligent writting and exceptional chops (as always).

I liked the supporting percussion, it rounds out the flavor of the tune.

Loud at times? Yes. However, it is almost a matter of mixing taste.

Glad I listened.

Theron.

Hey - this is really good stuff!

Congrats - great guitar sound and playing and . . .

. . . what they said!

:)

A wonderful listen!

Also a real nice arrangment with the bass and percussion
It really adds to the flavor!

I am going to try those elixers, I have read too many good things on here about them and I am sick of tracking my scratchin'

Thanks for sharing!

Im running my mics into the inputs of the Triton and using the hall verb in there... I lost alot of tone when I run into the triton for effects ... so im looking into getting a dedicated TC electrnics verb unit.

I haven't looked, but does the Triton have 48 volt pres built in, or do you have 2 pres in the chain between the Triton and the 012's? I used to use a sm58 to the Triton before I got condensors for acoustic guitar.
I'm just paranoid about recording effects to track. I hate to give up that mix control! Seems to work well for your acoustic stuff though.

no .. the triton doesnt have phatom power on board... I use the mackies xlr's and I use the insert effect jack out on the mackie 1402 to the 1/4" inserts of the triton. I have presets loaded in the triton in EXB A,b,c ... etc for effects for the guitars.. Like one preset in for rythm guitar.. one for lead.. each using a little or less of each effect.
Someone asked me if they should get a triton to get my guitar sounds... I told them NO! Im just using the reverb and some delay.. you can get these same effects in $60 units.
You also really have to watch your effects chain because there are a few points in the signal chain on the triton where the signal can get flopped from right to left. Thats really way I'd just like a dedicated reverb/dealy unit.. less chain anaylizing.
Each time you go through a electronic device esp. with long cables.. your signal will be transformed in some way. So I loose the natural sound of the acoustic guitar when I run through the triton with 50 feet of cable going in and out of it
ok... enough rambling.. back to recording :)

Oh yeah.. about mix control.. I do lose that when I record effects to track.. you really have to get it right the first time..

It would be cool if you could trigger your sounds from the triton along with the insert and master effects on board.. that would really add a ton with giving the drums a nicer sound

Thanks a bunch for all the ears guys!

I turn the Insert and Master FX all the way down, and run it dry. Then I use Sonar for all the drum editing, ie. adding verb, cutting highs on cymbals ect...
I noticed you don't use the CakewalkFX DXI's when I got your .BUN. Ever tried them?

i havent messed around much with the dxi's.. they seem useful for editing sounds though. Ive been messing with Waves compression... thats about it. Im not really good with it yet, so I dont use it. I really really want a couple Avalon vt-737s... you dont even have to tweak the knobs and you get a heavenly sound for vocals and instruments but I need two to run stereo  $2800 used... out of my budget. Your getting a pretty nice vocal sound... I think I saw your using the vtb-1 pres? I was looking at the RNP2 .. but I think I might just hold out for the gold. I just have to save my rubles. To tell you the truth I should just work with what I have :) when I start making money then I can enter dreamland!

you can buy quality pres/or mics as an investment they usualy hold their value like precious metals

but you should spend about $300 on a computer cuz your not givin it away after a year

i figured out that raddling sound ... my acoustic guitar has electronics in it and the wires inside are vibrating off the body inside... that should be a fun fix
