Intro: am Sarah, I used to sing and write with a group of musicians in a project, we used an 8 track, was a hoot, brilliant fun and got a good sound. I loved it, but we moved on and went separate ways and I forgot about how much I had enjoyed the process of making music. Now I want to work again, have found a musician to work with and have sent him samples of my vocals- he likes. I have samples of his music and love it, our sound can work very well together, it's more the practicalities as explained in previous thread. Anyway, proper introduction is done now and I am looking forward to sharing skills and knowledge and experience here. good find :)

Hi Guys! My name is Cyndie and I am an amateur singer and musician. In 2000 I went to school and got a certificate in Recording Engineering and Studio Techniques. I also bought alot of stuff that is pretty outdated now. Life circumstances dictated that I didn't use it much though I tried many times over the years to get back into it. Well, life has changed and I want to resurrect the ancient set up that I have. I have it up and running. Now to understand it and learn to use it. Currently I have a digi001 with a PowerMac G4 tower, an old Technics stereo receiver and huge tower speakrs (which I love to listen to), a Tascam DP-02 and many small toys, a few mics and some instruments. Looking forward to learning and helping here.

Hello there! I joined to post some tips on Kurzweil keybed repair in the "Disassembling FATAR keyboard" thread. Glad to be here!

Hi My Name is Teresa and I just joined this forum Ive been playing and recording since I was in my teens and kept most of the equipment from that early time. I started out with a teac 3340S, teac M2 mixer as I added new keyboards I upgaded to a randall 12-3 mixer and now have a Ramsa WR-S4224 as my main mixing board. I still have all these. I also use a pioneer RT909 and a tascam 133 ,234 , nakamichi 1000 cassette recorders for mixdown. Im keyboard player I have had jupiter 8's arp 2600 but have settled for a moog modular , a pair of yamaha CS-30's ,korg 800DV for analog keys I also have the standards for digital keys. Ive been doing ambiant ,and old school (70's) electronic styles
So this what I do here and glad to say hello to all of you
Teresa

Hey Teresa, just a note- you can hit the 'Reply With Quote' button, to show the post that you are commenting on.

It can get a bit confusing if you just 'Reply' out of order. :)

Welcome to the forum!

I must say it is nice to see a few new female members contributing. Maybe my wife won't think I'm just talking about sex with the boys as much now. LOL! :D

You can edit you post (for two weeks I believe) to show who you were commenting to.

Hey everyone. I came here hoping I can solve a little problem, this is what I posted, I hope someone could help me.

Hey! I also own one kB37. I have a little problem with it, I hope you can maybe help me, this is what I posted:

Hey Everyone!

When I try to record, although the input is high enough (as it can be seen in my interface), protools only receives a very low and weak signal. It records but the signal is SUPER low, the final volume is super, super low. What could it be?! You know, I thought maybe I up date whatever is possible, so I used MONKEY to update drivers and whatever Line 6 allowed me to do. But the problem continuous. I hope you can help me!

I am a self taught musician recording his own stuff. I work with an imac Mac OS x 10.6.8 and a POD Live 6 KB37. For recording I use both Protools 9 and Garage band.

Everything was working fine until I tried to install some Logic which apparently was messed up.

I thank you in advance!!

cheers,

Fabián.

Hello, I'm just joining up as I recently got some recording software and a computer powerful enough to use it. Recording my music has long been a dream of mine and I hope to learn all of the ins-and-outs of recording, mixing, use of effects, software use, etc. - basically everything I need to know to produce high quality music on my own. I look forward to learning with all of you.

I'm a PC user but I know on PC you can go into devices and drivers on the control panel and change the input volume on whatever device you want. I'm not sure if you can do this on mac but I would start there. Do a goolge search and find out how to access external devices on macs.

I'm an artist from Iowa named Infinite Knowledge. I mainly make hip hiop music but am heavily influenced by classic rock and jazz music. Glad to see what this forum can teach me.

I am excited I found this site.
Hoping I pick up alot of help and pointers from the knowledgeable peeps here

Hi guys I just recently cross graded from pro tools express to protools 11 using a 4x4 mbox. All required drivers installed through avid.com. The system i use is an iMac OS X 10.9 I've got to the point where the i/o setups are all doing fine allowing me to record tracks using my xlr cables connect from my mbox to the condenser mic and the playback engine has been set to "Avid Mbox"
The problem is that i can't even hear the mbox's headphone output even with or without launching protools 11. My headphones are working perfectly since i can get sound from the 3.5mm output on the back of my iMac. Even when i use a different DAW (Logic Pro X) I still can't hear the Mbox's headphone output. The Mbox's headphone output volume has been at 50 to 75% and nothing can be heard.
..
Any feedback or more information would be much appreciated. Cheers

Is the solution in the system preferences or would i have to configure the Mbox application itself?

Hello all, FT here, I've just bought a Tascam DP-32 and I normally use a Roland Fantom X73 DAW to record on.
I hope to record individual sounds (from the Fantom) onto the Tascam and mix them down onto a stereo track.
I also hope to record some 'live' instruments, bass, guitars (acoustic /electric and ukelele) and some real percussion, bongoes, tambourine, maracas, cowbell etc.
What I'm looking for here is to pair with somebody who could give me some tips on getting the best out of recording with a Tascam DP-32 in a simplified way (not too much tech speak please) anybody interested?
