gimmi your mic!
Here are a few thoughts if you want to have a Neumann badge in your mic locker:
Have you read the EQ magazin article about these Neumann Gefell mics? The UMT70S seesm to be an amazing muli-pattern LDC, and its well within your budget (around $1,500). Or how about a tube mic? The Gefell M990 comes to my mind, but it costs a bit more (around $2,200).
But I guess you can't really go wrong with the TLM 127. If I were you, I'd probably get the TLM127.
I mention the Gefell mics coz you can advertise them all as Neumann gear (Gefell was founded by Georg Neumann; during WWII, the Gefell factory was the only place where Neumann mics were built. They still hand-craft every single mic, and its the only place where the M7 capsule is still manufactured by hand; the legal name of Gefell is "Georg Neumann & Co).

). I really dont know what the difference is between the two models but i do know they are similiar. I think it might have something to do with switchable capsules but im not sure. I think i will be getting it back here this next week so i can look at it again because i cant really remember
