Dear recording fan's,
I was planning to start soldering my new cables for my new home studio during the next couple of weeks. Of course I had prepared a plan of how my gear should be connected before I even had bought the cables or the equipment. However, yesterday I received some less positive comments regarding the combination of my gear and the way I was planning to connect it. As the person is a professional trainer of a school for audio engineering I try to listen and learn. On the other side I cannot get rid of the feeling that there's more than just right or wrong when it comes to organizing the studio. That's why I would like to learn from your suggestions and ideas to see if you can help me to find other ways to get my studio up-and-running.
The situation / set-up is as follows:
1x 32/8/2 analog mixer
2x 48in/48out patchbays
2x large diagr. mic.'s
1x tube micr.
2x cond.mic.'s (with average quality)
1x mic. pre-amp
1x stereo tube compr./eq.
1x stereo reverb
2x computer interface with each 8in/8out
2x synth.modules with each 4 out's

My point of departure/personal preverence was that I'd run close to everything through the patchbays to create the most flexible working area, while using 10 chanels of the analog mixer as follows:
8x ch. > drumsounds (comming from plug-ins)
2x ch. > cd player

I am really curious about your suggestions and hope that it's not too much asked. :o

Kind regards,
pedwin
