Need some life in the drums.

I cant get the drums to sit in the mix. I'ts Emo music.....that may be why.
They don't seem to have any life to them.

Any suggestion on what to do. Do they sound OK or not.

This is what I did

Kick - EQ boost at 93 hz
EQ cut at 517 hz
Hi shelf boost at 2khz
compression on kick fast attack med release 4:1...only cutting 6 db on
avarage.

Toms - sent to stereo bus and gated.
Eq boost at 100hz and a cut at 444hz.

Snare - Low cut and a boost at 200hx and 500hz.
compression on snare fast attack med release 4.5:1...only cutting 8
db on avarage.

Overheads only have a low cut on them.

Every thing is sent to a buss with gental compression. Only 1 or 2 db.

I have a small amount of reverb on the kick and snare.

Drums by themselves don't sound bad....maybe it's something else. Post up the song altogether. You might just have some stuff fighting for space, and that is causing trouble.

It's not opening for me, Tim. I always have trouble with Lightning for some reason. I know it's not them, I'm the only one that seems to have a problem opening files or posting files with them. Something weird with my computer.
