Ok you starved plate Tooob bashers, what product's literature boasts, or spins this feature of their circuit topology?
 
Who cares? In audio, terms like "enhanced" mean dick.

Yup.....just thought it was a little humorous. I love creative marketing. Anyone have a thought on the VTB-1 vs the RNP vs the DMP3. I'm assuming the RNP is the clear winner?

Yeah. The VTB-1 is just another of a long lines of copycats using this wonderful and useless feature. WHen will someone design something all on their own? This is truly the age of copycat engineering.

I thought Fletcher made the comment about the VTB-1 over at PSW. But the VTB-1 wasn't the first to do it.... basically DBX was one of the first that come to mind and then it spun off onto the little tube pre's that ART and Behringer started to copy?

Read and make your own judgement. There was no poll, but many, many experienced recordists chose the the DMP3 over the RNP "in that instance". Does that mean the DMP is the equal of or better than the RNP. No, but it should tell you something. In my case, instead of spending an extra $300+ on the RNP, I went out and bought a DMP3. And when I decide to upgrade my clean channel I will bypass the RNP for something significantly better.
 
Thanks for the link, I did read it. I'm not sure that there was really a clear winner, especially with the noise issue of the RNP coupled with it's higher price. I think the logic behind your decision was sound. It sounds like the DMP3 is quite a good value, a very decent pre, and a good stepping stone on the way to a high end pre.
